God bless you brother for telling. It took me 56 years to finally tell someone about the abuse.i always remember my clothes sticking to me because of the Vaseline on my back to help it heal. I was told I was worthless and would never amount to anything. But it was only my dad not my mom. He died at 94 ,just before he died I found out his dad abused him. Hurt people hurt people. Only Jesus can heal a broken heart.

I have cried listening to this testimony. Wow!!! He used alcohol to mend his hurts, while still serving Jesus. Thank GOD for a counselor that helped him work thru the pain, grief, sadness,etc....to a dying minister that GOD used to bring healing to Russ also. Been saved since I was a little kid but I got into drugs as an adult and had to have open heart surgery and a liver transplant to get to wheee I am today. 3.25 years clean! Only because of several miracles. I’m not exaggerating. It was one miracle after another to bring me to this spot in my life and thankfully I’m getting closer to God than ever before.

If anyone reading this was abused as a child .please pray and ask god for the strength to forgive those who abused you. Once again, grateful to 100 Huntley, and to the brutally honest Russ Taff. Of all the chapters of his life story, one that troubles me is this Christian music *industry*, as the industrialists themselves call it. His dad preached on Sunday, was a drunken thug by Monday. Fast forward a few decades, and we've got well dressed, well paid artists on stage, singing about joy and stuff, while deep down, they're full of grief and /or anger, and hurting themselves and others. In my youth, some family members were "train wrecks". And, as an older man thinking back, I am grateful that, at least they were honest. They didn't know how to break out, but at least they were honest about it. Jesus, the "chain breaker", isn't just the theme of a nice song..!

He points to an important reality that is never talked about in the church--that is, that we continue to "see" the parent whose love we are still searching for--in our spouse, our boss, pastor, whoever. I always "see" my dad in my husband, and it used to freak me out until I realized that I was still looking for my daddy to love me, and still doing all the things I used to do to try to get him to love me. I was living out of that child in me. I am learning now to "move toward" that part of me when I look at my husband and see my dad. I "receive" her, and bring her to jesus, to get the love she needs. The more I do that, the more I can "show up" as an adult, to be loved by him as an adult, as he will never love me as a child. But, it is a long process, and sometimes I wish Jesus would send someone to pray for me like Russ had--to heal me of childhood abuse once and for all. But I guess each person has their own way to be healed.

Tender hearts like Russ that are raised by someone with a Jezebel spirit-always end up in relationships (like the manager in his bands) that use them & make them feel like “nothing” and they almost always end up marrying that larger than life person they are strangely drawn to (with the spirit of Jezebel) - because that’s what feels “normal.” Being belittled, used, abused-the family scapegoat (and later everyone’s) just feels… normal and strangely “right”-but it’s all a LIE With that Jezebel spirit, it’s always about “them.” I feel sorry because until he sees the spiritual aspect (of the demonic) operating through the people he’s around & with…it will continue. You can’t truly get well & find the truth & truly connect with Christ-while surrounded by people that NEED you to be WRONG, that NEED you to be the PROBLEM they can ACCUSE as hurting “them” when it’s really THEM that are the problem. The spirit of Jezebel can operate through males or females. I would tell Russ, I could see it in your story with both parents, probably one or more siblings, that manager…and I would pray about all those on your life…including the one sitting next to you. Control isn’t love. And love is safe, you shouldn’t have to & don’t have to hide from someone who genuinely loves YOU. Love tells the truth too…even when speaking the truth will cause you to be even more hated. And for those with the spirit of Jezebel operating in them…everything’s always about “THEM.” I suspect there’s still a lot of emptiness there because of who is still in you’re life. Until the one with the Jezebel spirit receives deliverance…or is removed…the empathetic, tender heart/ scapegoat person can’t truly be free. Anyone reading this…pray for all the tender hearts raised by a Jezebel parent (can be operating in a dad or mom or both) that end up married to one…because “Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they’re old, they’ll not depart from it.” The devil knows what he’s doing. But Yahushua HaMassiach (Jesus Christ) and our YAHUAH Abba does too. He is a Saviour not just for eternity….but SAVES US from all the Jezebels who live to FEED OFF US, SUCKING THE LIFE OUT OF US..most of the time, right next to us or around us…and He SAVES US in the “now.” I’m praying for you Russ & all others out there like us.
