Commentary is so good. You throw enough analysis to let the viewer into what you are thinking throughout the match. I much prefer this to the endless droning that we hear all the time on broadcast matches. Good stuff bro!

Other matches I'm considering uploading: 1) Allie and I played a 6.5 DUPR player for $900 in a mixed doubles gold medal match 2) $1000 5.5+ Gold Medal Match (Men's Doubles) 3) Singles vs Woman Pro Singles Gold Medalist Any interest in seeing any of these matches with or without commentary??

Subbed. Looking forward to more vids. Tanner aka "Less Than 60 Seconds Guy" (His girl has to love that one!) is my FAVORITE PB KZbinr. Dude is just a legit teacher plus I'm left handed! I will say his original serve was much better imho but this open stance switch up is his new thing so who am I to overule my mentor. Great exchanges and your partner has a lightning rod serve!

Seriously huge respect!! The fact that he overruled his partner on the first one AFTER the ref confirmed that he couldn’t see the ball is the highest level of integrity that you can find on the pro pickleball scene

High quality match, props for posting and analyzing a loss. Seems a bit like you guys were a little afraid to attack and got lulled into a passive game thinking they would eventually start making mistakes, which surprisingly just never happened, even with the wind swirling.
@KevinDongPickleballАй бұрын
I agree and think we could have done a much better job with our positioning both in transition and at the kitchen line to help find those attacks. To their credit, they were rock solid and chose the right shots very consistently tho. Will be better before the next time!

Great video and commentary. While their 3rds success % was a little higher, I think the quality of their 3rds were better as they received an easier 5th shot to reset compared to your guys 3rds (a little higher) which you received a hard 5th shot reset. I wouldn't say they could hit 4ths better, I just think yalls drops were just a little higher in general, exposing yourselves to a harder reset

@KevinDongPickleballАй бұрын
They were like mega Ernes. He read them nice and early and got some air time lol
@owenallenazАй бұрын
It's interesting watching Kyles footwork. On both Erne's he takes off from his left foot, maximizing his right hand reach, and giving him some rotational power on the shot. I think when I erne I always take off from my right foot, thinking I wanted to maximize the jump, which now I realize may be wrong since it's so hard to time with a right foot, right hand shot.
@KevinDongPickleballАй бұрын
@@owenallenaz I’m a biiiig believer in launching from the outside foot (right foot when you’re on the right side and left foot when you’re on the left)!

Do opponents ever take exception to you pumping yourself up after a good shot? Is there ever trash talk on the court while playing?
@KevinDongPickleballАй бұрын
I have definitely had some opponents get annoyed but my goal is to bring energy for myself and for my partner. There definitely is trash talking in pickleball but usually more during rec games lol. I haven’t run into it that much at tournaments

Hahaha sadly the camera person was actively losing this match! It was so windy the camera was moving and I didn’t have time during the warmup to fix the angle because I was focusing on competing first! Most of my other filmed matches are better though. Just lots of adversity for this one 😅

@@KevinDongPickleball yeh they’re pretty good to answer your title question.
@LandonWilson88Ай бұрын
I liked this game breakdown! As a fellow pickleball video editor I believe I can help save some confusion. As I used to overlay the score the way you did in this video. It's a lot easier to keep two smaller lines of text. one for each team. Then keep a running score beside each text line. I'm not saying that's the "best" way, you can do it however you feel best. I found it easier than constantly swapping numbers around each side out. Funny enough here's an example of a video I recorded of you and bmac at Owensboro earlier this year. It's not the cleanest look, I've improved it more recently. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHuql5l_mqeqqM0si=YFgcbO-7MJS9-kGB
@KevinDongPickleballАй бұрын
Great point! I have been trying to outsource editing for my long form videos but since I was in a (self imposed) time crunch for this one and my editor was unavailable, I did this myself and the scoreboard looked like this in a hurry lol. Cool angle of the Owensboro match!!
@LandonWilson88Ай бұрын
@KevinDongPickleball yeah it's a great angle, aestheticly it would be cooler with permanent nets and PB court lines. Always a good tournament though.

For as good as these players are, I’m surprised that their serves are so average. Why not hit serves that are much more difficult to return?

IMO, a net fault is to be avoided at all costs.
@RideWithJosh696Ай бұрын
Nice play. I’m new but just an observation, footwork would help your partner significantly. Unsolicited advice I know so I’m that guy, but it’s something I noticed.
@KevinDongPickleballАй бұрын
It’s a good observation. From my perspective, it’s less about footwork and more about decision making of when the hold the kitchen line! The wind certainly made both of us a little less willing to take dinks out of the air but then it would push the ball a lot deeper than originally calculated so then both of us were taking bigger steps off the kitchen line. Not ideal!
@RideWithJosh696Ай бұрын
@@KevinDongPickleball yeah forgot wind is a huge factor. Can make those shots really hard to judge along with already sensitive shots like dinks
