I was a 48 rated GK on FIFA 06. Trained with Jussi Jaaskelinen every week at Bolton when they were good and hopefully added to the session, number 2 to Matt Gilks at Rochdale who went on to play in the prem, kept the bench warm for Tom Heaton for United under 18s plus a shit load of other prem keepers back in the day. But yeah, shit stats for a pro, but a professional goalkeeper never the less. Remember, there are only 92 professional clubs, only really 2 keepers per team, so you're effectively one of the best 184 goalkeepers in the country even with those stats.

@@dxfifa you think you're holding your own, until you're in a diving race next to him and he's 2 cones in front of you after 30 seconds even though I was 10 years younger. It wasn't the speed, It's the nuence of his footwork, the technique was absolutely frightening. The difference with prem keepers versus league 2 is in the consistency of excellence. Most pros are always capable of making world class saves, but it's how easy they make it look on a consistent basis

One of the main differences which you mentioned is the efficiency. Pros have a way of instantly identifying your weakness in defence, and then going for that... Even if that weakness is just a slightly wrong setting of your body in the moment. There's also this wierd tipping point, when you defend against ok players, you react to what they are doing. When you defend against good players, you have to play mind games a bit by pretending to leave an opening for them, knowing they're going to try attack it. But when you play against proper players? They're just ahead of you physically and mentally, and all you can do is hope for the best

Very skilful, no doubt. But the rating could be based on match performances. I think the mental strength during games (under pressure) could have contributed to the low scores. Top players are always calm and decide best on what to do on the pitch (to pass or to dribble etc). These aspects enhance their performances during games, hence the higher ratings.

Actually those low rated players in fifa doesn’t really show how reality is. You can take for example some players like Lewandowski in his first fifa card and you will see him with very low stats but when these guys starts to perform well on the pitch they suddenly have their scores increased, like today its just unimaginable see Lewa below 80 points. Who knows if this player on the video isn’t actually deserving a 70-75 rating but he is just not famous enough for that?

Man i am not saying fifa ratings are ok but that's what we call development in the lewa situation. Why we have the term potential ability. Also how fifa should rate players? Tens of 70+ player in the lower leagues is not looking like a good idea. What about other leagues then, what about transfer market. Zaid is an amazing player as far as we can see but you gotta rate footballers for the sake of "simulation" in videogames, so here we are

@@onurcancelebi8903 FM have more detailed stats which made more sense. Fifa is just the simplest. I wish they used FM stats instead. I've seen a player that had the same stats as Messi in dribbling but was horrible in mental & personal stats. I believe the dribble action in FM is a combination of different stats like dribbling + first touch + fitness + pressure + composure etc. while the dribbling is rated when the players are dribbling unchallenged during drills or training. It made more sense.

Nice video, I've always felt like FIFA ratings are deceptive. While theoretically based on "observable" data, none of those skills are static in a player, and it's hard to drive away biases. Moreover, even taking them at face value, we still have to remember that lower-rated players are still elite athletes playing on well-known teams, they would mop the floor with amateurs, even talented amateurs.

The insane thing about football is that billions of people give it a shot in some way, but only the best couple of hundred make it to the best leagues. I don't think any other sport is that widespread and accessible and therefore competitive. And it is "just" kicking a ball after all, which happens to be connected to one of the most ubiquitous forms of intelligence found in virtually any animal, the gaze heuristic. Being good at judging an objects trajectory was always a main evolutionary driver.

I'm not so sure about that. They take the time to 3D model every player and rating the players would be far less time consuming than 3D modelling.

I was part of EA rating team. TBH the ratings have nothing to do with the real world, they are based in comparison with other players in the same league, based on their match performance. So how do you rate a bench player of a 2nd tier team? You put him at the same level of the average bench player of that team. When he plays a bit you tweak the stats on what you see and so on. So don't take the stats too seriously. Sometimes one guy is updating 5 teams, while EPL has 2 guys per player.

There are 3 levels of players that I’ve always noticed whenever I have competed in any competition; 3rd rate players, People who are getting in the grooves of the game, and have learned the basic fundamentals of the game to beat 99% of new players. The second rated player is someone who treats the game as a habit, waking up everyday to practice to complete in the upper echelons of the tournaments before them. They have competed in regionals every so often, and can beat the 3rd rated players 9/10 times on a sick day. Then you have the 1st rated players, who would lose sleep over practice everyday. They compete in foreign and domestic tournaments, and figure out little nuances of the game that most will overlook. They can read their opponents as well as the game, form a niche strategy when at a disadvantage, and form muscle memory on a small maneuver that most will hardly use. The fifa stats of these professional players have different degrees of difference for each attribute. Some are exponential to a tight difference in stats when playing on the pitch. When someone sees 50 pace and say it’s too slow, keep in mind that this pace is on par with the average speed of a fit person (15-18mph).

Simple, this player is great, and has good skills BUT if he was a really good football player, he would use and do all of those tricks and skills in every single game, with dedication and without losing consistency That is what separates a pro player that plays in some unknown club from a pro player that plays in some BIG known clubs. And maybe all that showing off was just for the vídeo

its for videos most people struggle to beat a man if he had sombody who was the same lvl as him who actually knows how to defend it would have been diffrent story

according to wikipedia, Zaid has less than 10 games played during last 3 years. he travels between clubs in loans. maybe there is something true in his card?football is not same as freestyle and pannaball.

This reminds me that 20 years ago one of my senior high mate went for a professional team. One year later when I was enjoying the summer vacation back from university and we met on the pitch, he dribbled over every one at ease including the goalkeeper, sat on the ball and used his ass to goal. However the guy never made it to a top-tier professional match even in China where soccer sucks always...

But can he do all that consistently in a match against a big club though? I think that's where the stats come into play.
@minimi1 Жыл бұрын
He's worse than I expected, I'd say I was surprised at everyone praising him but I've seen players at trials and damn they are much worse. He only beat the defender half of the time and was constantly on his weak foot, which looked very bad. His shooting power and accuracy was bad, and his passing was meh. The decisions he made also indicate poor game knowledge. Really surprising that he's in League Two.
@Powelly6 Жыл бұрын
@@minimi1tbh I can sort of agree, it’s just no one watches league two teams and therefore think they are even worse, not saying they are bad in the first place. But yeah, I spotted he only used his left foot, and for a league 2 player that is pretty poor icl.

@@ciwancoban Yeah I get you mate, I was just trying to say that 56 rated players are crazy good but against Ronaldo or Messi they would get wrecked
@thesurrealist7 Жыл бұрын
Not really, FIFA don't really rate lower league players properly. The same player if he got picked by a Prem team would automatically get like a 10 point boost even if he was on the bench.
@josch10554 ай бұрын
@@ciwancobannot too sure if you are joking? But if you are not just let me tell you, that there is an exact 0% chance that you will go pro, even if you train for 7 years straight with a personal coach or whatever. Unless obviously you already have experience playing in academy teams as a kid and teenager

He actually deserves his rating. Shot power is week, speed is decent, skills are whatever. Passing accuracy and technique is also whatever. For a professional player who spends so much time practicing he is pretty bad. Football is very competitive sports and not everyone can be great. But the fact that he made it to fifa is already not a bad achievement at all. Keep practicing my man.

Pro is just a totally different level than semi or amateur. On the other hand, you can't just see how perfect he performs without any pressure, it is a completely different story when playing in a competitive match, with real pressure on the ball, as well as countless physical contention.
