Happy to see an Ekko video. I am surprised how little Ekko perry has played in his career, as a great player his basic ekko mechanics were really lacking which is kind of odd for a challenger level player. But it does explain why perry has never rated ekko highly or recommended him either when it comes to coaching or his tier lists. He is probably not wrong that he is an OTP type of champ but his wr has been relatively good and for most of 2024 the top ranked player on NA was an ekko player. Even now there are several ekko jg players in high elo so he is not a bad champ. As for the mechanics that showed perry hasn't played much ekko: - smiting to kill camps, ekko's w passive has %missing hp in it so you actually smite it first if you are planning to use smite - the 2pts in q thing isn't a big deal, but a lot of q2's were missed. and having all spells at lvl 3 is generally safer if you need to move off of your clear Not meant to be a hate comment so I hope it isn't taken as such. As a D2 Ekko main for the past 5 seasons, he definitely feels very weak this season. His OS potential has severely decreased since the recent patches, and protobelt indeed feels underwhelming. We were used to building as much AP as possible because of the insane ratio on passive and W, then MP. I could E - Q - AA - proto - reset AA and literally OS squishy targets. Can’t anymore sadly. Camps could be cleaned up way faster too… hope he will get a buff soon enough

I completely feels the same. Since patch 14.18, his damages has clearly decreased, since buff of barrier, I cannot OS ADC easily whereas they can. I miss the old mythic Protobelt, it was literally one of the strongest one item spike in the entire game :'( If Ekko gets a buff I would like rather a 100% AP ratio on the passive or an antislow on the passive (like Phase Rush)

As an OTP I build Storm against champ who go invisible so the lightning strikes them while I cannot AA them (Kayn's R, Vayne's R, Kha'Zix's R, etc)

Well played to Perry but I can not argue against rocketbelt enough, if you want to proc your passive fast go hail of blades, rocketbelt severely reduces your damage, even when you hit the active you’ll still lose out on about a 100 damage as opposed to other 1st item options like lichbane or stormsurge.

Ekko noob here, I think Hail of blades feels awesome, but I read a lot of advice against it. "Lategame not good", "it does nothing on Ekko". but if I don't get enough kills Dark Harvest seems just as useless, where with HOB I feel confident in early ganks to actually get the lead. You always go HOB regardless of the enemy team?

​@@em8452 I've always been going HOB , the thing is ekkos late game dmg is pretty insane and HOB lets you get there quicker. Think of HOB as proto belt, on amuch shorter cool down and let's you build full dmg

Hail of blades is good for ekko in lane, in jungle harvest is best, unless you face specific comp with your team having nice cc

Recently starting to play ekko again. I know he is good, but man he feels Garbo rn. Legit feels like I need to get a stacked mejies every game in order to be able to win. And at that point, other champs work better. Ekko needs a stacked mej to one shot, A tank volibear with a stacked meji will one shot.

Is there a specific reason you are using Dark Harvest over Electrocute? It takes 16 stacks AFAIR to match it.

@ that’s true but he did mess up a couple times I still would not use electrocute over dark or hail of blades. For late game those dark harvest stacks do stack up on ekko as he has high AP scaling and you easily bring enemies to half health with one combo on ekko( to squishy champs) and the dark harvest just keeps scaling infinitely. The other route is hail of blades and you build other items like storm surge, litch bane or nashors( don’t really need since you have hail of blades to proc your passive easily) because rocket belt is trash he should be nashors tooth for a faster clear speed in jungle and to proc passive easier(if using dark harvest). Using HoB guarantees for at least one passive proc and scales well into late game but electrocute falls off, it’s only good for laning where you often trade quick burst and gives you extra damage. Using in jungle you aren’t really benefiting much from it as you only get like 3-5 decent ganks before laning phase is over where instead you can use dark harvest to scale more or HoB and not having to build nashors tooth and instead another time for a bigger power spike.

@ dark harvest is the safe route to take but if you want to 1v9 then HoB is better, electrocute is the weakest of the three for jungle ekko

you should smite red buff lvl1 early if you W start, to get extra dmg from W passive You should also consider 3 camp clear > look for a sidelane gank and back for dark seal instead of always full clearing first clear.

Is rocketbelt really that good? The auto reset is really good on him and 2600 is pretty cheap. But i feel likehe needs more damage to snowball. I have a million points on ekko and i like the ap a bit more then the active

When it was a mythic item it was the MUST HAVE item but since it got "nerfed" it really does not feel as good, so it's mainly either a preference item (build it if you like it) or a situationnal item (many dashes, lot a range, lot of a MS, etc). Personally I prefer Nashor's Tooth as a first item by far

ekko is more like a lillia than a gwen i think. Gwens damage is kinda busted, she has a lot of carry potential while lillia and ekko kinda needs to use their movespeed to dodge around and make impact with their stun/sleep. I dont think its worth to play ekko anyway tho like there are so many better junglers

Mundo is a counter to darius even uf you bully him early after level 6 mundo is semi impossible to kill, and later he is impossible to kill when his passive cooldown is lower so you cant pull him and he's faster with ult, fun stuff.

Quick tip for ekko mains out there. If you know you aren't getting cheese invaded you should smite your first camp early lvl 1. Ekkos w will give more dmg when the camp is low and after a rotation of his passive + smite you will be very close to this threshold 😊 just makes for a faster first clear with cleaner spell rotations
