I do like what East Midlands Railway are doing to the Class 360 Desiro since they were cascaded from Greater Anglia and I have been on them since they were introduced in service few years ago. And I also been on the new Luton DART shuttle train as well.

until the refurb at least, the emr connect isnt worth it. they also made it so confusing, like 'welcome onboard this emr connect service to corby. this is a luton airport express service to luton airport pkwy'. i mean, surely it cant be that difficult to say 'omg you can get to luton airport in 32 minutes with emr connect!' or make a service just for it. also, thameslink is more comfortable, and if you buy the ticket on the day, your ticket is valid on either service. if you dont care abiut trains, take thameslink. more space, more comfort, more modern. if you do care about the train and goong return, get both. if you've never been on 360 and you're going single, get 360, as you can get a thameslink train to more places. everything could change with the refurb

The Class 360/1 that were used on Greater Anglia are lot more efficient and reliable and I think that EMR should keep them for long time and perhaps run them to Market Harborough with the electrification on the Midland Main Line to continue towards Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Derby.
