Thank you! Comparing it to the 27SM is kinda moot, considering the BR-difference. It should be compared to the regular 27, in wich case I'd argue it's quite a bit better.

I won't deny that he could have done the test with a Soviet Su-27, but comparing the Soviet with the SM, they have the same stats, the only difference is the radar, the SM has better avionics, if I remember correctly before the SM version came to the game, Mat made a comparison video between the two and said that they are basically the same, except for the radar.

About the su-33 extra power, Yes the engines are equal but there is a " toggle mode" ( like 120%wep) that you a 10MINUTES of use before engine condition start degrading, like the harrier. so even on dynamic thrust( moving air) su33 will keep generating more power BUT if you pass the 10min engine will start to go RED. can any one confirm this ?

It'll most likely be added before the Su-35, as it is less advanced avionics wise, but still incredibly maneuverable with a pretty decent variety of missiles. Itd be head and shoulders over the SM in game, though I'd rather see the Su-27SM3 atm.

I wonder when we might get the upgrade for the Su33 or an upgraded version for the tech tree. I'm Really looking forward the Su35 when it finally comes, that's The Su I think looks The Best, along side the Su34, really like want a lineup with both in SIM or if my Xmas miracle wish happens and Gaijin Acutally adds an EC mode permanently, those 2 together would be crazy fun to fly, hahahahahaha. Gonna grind the 33 with the update, the F117 will wait a bit longer.

The only upgrades the Su-33 recieved were an improved RWR, GPS navigation, and better targeting for dumb bombs. The plane has been seriously neglected over it's lifespan and the airframe is already scheduled to be phased out. Gaijin could implement a proposed upgrade that never was to get a better version of the plane. The Mig-29K is the next step for the Russian Navy in real life. That plane can carry R-77s, anti-ship missiles and precision weapons.

My bet is that they will do something to put those upgraded carrier models to use. Though I'm Sure Many people will buy their way into the Su33, I believe they will eventually add an 'late' model of it with the little upgrade, just to make way to the Naval Mig 29 eventually, or just straight up make a premium so they can cash in a bit more. Wish I knew a bit more of the Russian Navy post WW2, but I really would love to see more soviet naval aircrafts in game eventually, though they're not as numerous as the American ones.

I don't understand why these planes have to have so much drag when turning, there's literally no counter play to the American counterparts. They did the same thing with the mig 29 when it and the f16 came out. They were very similar planes, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, but all the no skill American players complained because they couldn't just win regardless of their energy state or if they made mistakes, so they nerfed the mig into the ground and it's never recovered. Very sad that it seems to be the case with the SU and Eurofighter as well.

Su-47 is a big stretch, it was developed as 5th gen, so it's at least on par with su-35 in terms of avionics and armament

It wouldn't really matter because of the oswald’s efficiency nerfs in the flight model, remember that the Su-33 is 2.2 tons heavier to the Su-27sm and sm is already underperforming in the flight model aspect, expect higher drag and losing half your speed in one turn.

@@VexatiouslyTired Oswald Efficiency is the same for both. Thus is irrelevant. 2.2 Tons heavier but canards are lifting surface and give additional vortex = more lift. And is rule of thumb you don't give 2.2 tons weight only to add bad ass looking canards. These 2.2 tons give you total more lift and more benefit than weight.

As guy above said - it’ll sit at 13.3 so don’t except it to be any competitive in sim, it’ll face 13.7’s and 14.0’s exclusively without a single chance of being downtiered unlike in RB (just like a normal Su-27S but unlike 27S the Su-33 at least has RWR that actually works
