I won a green Jell-O fan contest when I was a kid about 13-14, it was around 1994 and the prize for winning the contest was Bill calling me up on the telephone and talking to me. He talked to me for almost 2 hours, and was gregarious, funny, inquisitive, and just overall extremely genuine. I'll never forget that phone call and the impact it had on me. Green jello will always have a special place in my heart and Bill will always be a legend to me.

I live just far enough on one side of the Oregon border that I'm forced to call myself a Californian, but I don't claim this state. I know they played one the west coast a handful of times but life always seemed to get in the way of making it to a show. It's never too late though.

11:27 that moment of realization of his mothers support being the sole factor for chasing & achieving his dreams is beautiful. Coming from a family that’s jehovas witness and wanting to do music all my life I understand the impact of people telling you all the time you can’t do something and to just be “regular” and “follow the rules set for you” , can really tear you down especially when it’s from someone you really look up to and seek approval from like your father….but it’s a even bigger impact when you have that one or 2 people in your corner rooting for you to keep going despite what anyone says. Thanks mom and my big bro for always believing in my dreams when nobody else would see it. They were at my first performance with just 30 people in the room…10 years later and I own my own recording studio with my best friends doing what we love for a living working with some of the most renowned names in and around our city for music. Just goes to show how far a little support can go from someone you love. And to those who may not have those people in their corner don’t ever stop pursuing your dreams, life’s too short to not atleast try. Cause in the end atleast you can say you did it then wondering what if

Practice what you preach bud that’s the problem with most of you guys. Just cause your ONE experience was good doesn’t mean it was for everyone else. Hope they give you a lesson about empathy soon seeing as you missed the whole point of the original comment.

I'm a metalhead through and through. Probably have been to 300-400 concerts now. Saw them at Joe's Grotto in Phoenix Arizona about 10 years ago. They are easily in my top 10 of my most funnest concerts I've ever been too. If you ever have a chance to go see them please do, you won't be disappointed.

Green Jelly has always been a HUGE inspiration to me. As a kid, I remember rocking their clothes, listening to their CDs, and watching all the videos I could get my hands on. I also was born in, and grew up in Buffalo, in the '60's and '70's, might have seen Bill around. SO MANY people that I grew up with, (and also some family members) moved or traveled to the west coast from the Buffalo area, (and all over the northeast) back then. It was "the thing to do". I'm one of the ones who stayed. When Bill mentioned that he hails from Buffalo, I thought to myself: "yup, it figures". I've heard some horror stories about folks who hitchhiked to California back in the day, looking for "free love". I would love to visit L.A. someday, but not during fire season or earthquake season or zombie homeless people drug overdose season, thank you.

I've been a metal vocalist for literally decades. Most of what I sing tends to have a little metal injected into it. One night, I sang Three Little Pigs. A friend of mine heard me and thought I was just doing what I always do and making it more gruff than it is originally. She'd never heard of the band or the song. Her husband took her outside, and pulled up their video on his phone, and showed it to her. She came in and apologized and said I sang it perfectly. That was one of the proudest moments of my life.

I went to the whisky a go go back in January and I can tell you, being completely foreign to this type of culture, walking in there and being completely mesmerized and feeling on top of the world, you TRULY do “forget.” Its up there with one of the best experiences of my life, and I want to go back there so much. My introduction to Green Jelly was watching him go on after me. And man, was in for a surprise. And I played some melancholic r&b folk rock. I was in for a shock. I first met Bill and Green Jell-o (to hell with Kraft Foods) when they came through The OMNI in Oakland. I was working there at the time and just loved the show. I followed them to a show in Sacramento at the legendary Crest Theater. Where I was one of about a half dozen ticket buyers! Turned out the "show" was as much rehearsal and me hanging out with the members who were not on stage at the time! Thrilled to know that Bill is still making his magic happen. I hope to see them again some time!

There would be no green jello if it wasn't for GWAR. Dude is super nice though. In '97 The decendents recorded a video at his space. I wax 16 and happy to just be apart of it.. we were "the crowd " and worked for pizza. He was going through his props in the back and we struck up a conversation about art. He gave me a bunch of weird foam props. I don't know what happened to them I must have lost them somewhere. I didn't even know who he was until he told me. But what a nice guy to connect with some random teenager with an orannge quadhawk and talk to him like a normal person, totally humble and inspiring. It makes me happy to see him here.

I got to play drums for Green Jello a few years back and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. Bill Manspeaker is an absolute legend and the organized chaos he puts out is second to none.
