No, this is not the end. This is part one of two. The second part will be the end of the DLC, and once that's done, Max0r will finally go back to the base game and kill the final boss. The DLC has its own power progression system separate from actually leveling up, so you don't end up horribly overpowered right out of the gate. You have to explore and find special items called blessings that increase your power and make you more durable, so exploration is heavily encouraged. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't (or refused to) realize how important those blessings were. You can find a lot of them quickly if you actually try exploring, which makes the DLC much easier. But of course, not too much easier. In my opinion, the DLC is peak, and almost every boss added is some of the best Fromsoft ever made. My personal favorite boss hasn't been shown yet.

Apparently, they weren't originally giant. They were still fairly large, about dinner plate sized, but not too dangerous. Then the Scarlet Rot came around and turned them all giant. The reason they're mixed and matched is probably the same reason so many creatures and people are growing extra horns/wings/scales: the Primordial Crucible.

Bayles is a really cool fight but on launch he was insanely brutal what with the scadutree blessing system bugged as it was So scadutree blessings were upgraded by finding scadutree fragments n then offering them up to the site of grace but after reaching scadutree blessing+5 every subsequent level up has zero effect because of the bug so regular enemies and bosses regularly dealt insane damage if not outright one shotting players with low vigor bayles was in a class of his own at launch.... The scadutree blessing would buff your dealt damage while lowering received damage while spirit ashes would buff summon hp n damage reduction n horse stats too At launch the spirit ash blessing was bugged past spirit ash blessing+4 so summons would regularly get two shot by most bosses but often served as great distractions

They're honestly really heart-wrenching sometimes you'll probably enjoy them. The thing is a lot of his videos are Lore about elden ring right now and they're really long so you might want to watch those in your own spare time.

Messmers 2nd phase is considered easier than the first because he has bigger openings in his new attacks. Some of the openings allow you to do nearly double damage (if you hit him while he is still transformed into a snake) Only one of his new 2nd phase attacks is kinda hard to deal with but other than that, 1st phase is just more aggressive

Basically, the Shadow of The Erdtree Tree DLC is bascially the length of 1/4 of base Elden Ring as an estimate. They packed so much content into this DLC, it's crazy. I have taken a break from Elden Ring, I played slightly half-way through base when life stuff and other things make me take a long break from it. I think I'm aproaching the Morgott the Omen King, and will definitly need to relearn stuff when I do get back to it. But back to the DLC,from all the stuff I've seen, it's an impressive and incredible work of art FromSoftware has created. Now onto recent controversy involving this DLC. So to the surprise of almost everyone, this DLC got nominated for this year's Game of the Year award... To me, it doesn't matter how good or long a DLC is, it's added optional content to a complete game that already won Game of the Year that came out in 2022. That's just me, I'm rooting for Metaphor to win, but anything over DLC

Elden Ring is on average 60-80 hours for a completed run, Shadow of the Erd Tree is roughly 15-30 hours. It literally is a full seperate game as a DLC.

So about Bayle. Beating him took me around 4 hours. However, earlier in the fight, I summoned Igon, the NPC which can help you fight Bayle. Aaand I was *this* close to beating Bayle. But I wanted to beat him solo. So before I won, I quit the game, and then continued the next several hours to beat him solo. I don't regret it. Bayle is an epic fight.

It is difficult but not as bad as some people claim. Some people used the busted builds from the main game, ran straight to the bosses without collecting the items that make you stronger and when that didn't work complained. It definitely is more difficult than the base game but isn't that the point? You need to defeat a strong optional boss to get to the dlc and have a lot of options to make you stronger and the game easier. You can use buffing spells, summon npcs or other players etc. I also very rarely summoned but that is my choice and not the games fault.

Also you wouldnt have been able to play the DLC even if you wanted to. Its a fromsoft tradition that you must already be at least balls deep in the required dead of the chosen candidates of the base game to play the DLC of a souls title. Which is funny cause Elden Ring's DLC requires you to beat two of the hardest bosses in the base game to get into thr DLC. Even funnier. The DLC has its own semi leveling structure, and it in itself is practically the length of an average Souls Game that isnt Elden Ring. So yeah Miuazaki was really generous to announce there wouldnt be another Fromsoft game like Elden Ring cause the developers certainly suffered just as mich if not more than the players in making this.

Elden ring was the first soulsborne to go really mainstream so there were a lot of people complaining that it was too hard, people who hadn’t played any other soulsborne games and didn’t know what to expect, in reality, in my opinion at least, Elden ring is the second easiest soulsborne game because it’s open world you can farm as much as you want, weapons, skills, spells and ashes are all way stronger and more versatile/interchangeable than in any other game and the bosses (the real bosses, not the 100 odd basic enemies that he a boss healthbar) are usually pretty well balanced and don’t rely on artificial difficulty. The only game easier was demons souls, most of that game was a breeze, dark souls 1 was harder because you were fighting the camera and mechanics as much as you were the bosses (not to say the bosses are bad, DS1 has some of the best bosses in any game), DS2 was harder because it has a lot of gimmick bosses that could be either really easy or really annoying, from swarm battles to boss rushes and insta kills, it got a bit crazy sometimes, plus they tried a new way of leveling that made the first 1/8th or so of the game really annoying because you need to try to balance your levels or you won’t be able to tank anything, won’t be able to dodge, or will run out of stamina immediately. DS3 and Bloodborne are just harder in my opinion, not many gimmicks, they’re just really well balanced and the bosses on average are harder than most Elden ring bosses. And then there’s Sekiro…. That game is probably the hardest game I’ve ever played, it was a nightmare the first time, subsequent tries went a lot easier but I’d still say it’s the hardest of the lot

Okay so Bayle He is a Drake. What's a Drake? It's a wingless Dragon Bayle is the father of all Drakes, made a Drake because he's a rat bastard that betrayed the at the time Dragon King resulting in his wings being ripped off brutally Bayle ran away like a little baby and fathered a fuck ton of Drakes that you sometimes fight, being hunted by Igon and presumably other knights who's order's name escapes me but they served the Dragons and in place of the King would hunt Bayle You help Igon the last of the hunting party to get his spirit to the fight as his body is failing him and he can't anymore, when you get there you summon his spirit in the prime of his life You fight Bayle and the change of phase is him in his intense rage manefesting wings once again to put you in the grave When you win you get Bayle's cursed heart and Igons stuff because with his fight done his spirit fades and his body dies

Drake have wings, Bayle was not made a drake, he was born as the first one, and as far as we know he did not betray the dragon lord, he challenged him .

It's not that the dlc was any hard , it's that 1-players has a severe allergy to purring points into vigor(hp increasing stat) And 2- they didn't understand the whole dlc blessing system, though to be fair it was broken(as literally broken code, not overpowered broken) the scadutree blessing stopped giving effects passed +5 and the spirit ash summon buff stopped giving effects after +4 so you easily had bosses one shotting players with low vigor or in my case(I had 60 vigor, the hard cap) and was being two-three shot by most bosses but I still beat consort radhan with only black flame and no summons oth then the first attempt that I intentionally failed to get the gesture from being charmed by miquella twice then i fought radhan again and summoned those two to get their gear after the fight(this is mandatory) they died within seconds of the fight starting..... Long story short players didn't understand the blessings Scadutree blessing would buff your attack damage while lowering your received damage while spirit ash blessing would buff your horse and summons health but as a said the system was bugged to hell along with many things like the thorns spell I forget the name of it dealt so much damage and everyone ran it it was so powerful one cast would delete half of a given bosses hp bar now it's more balanced but still dangerous i always liked bayles tyranny but the incantation was alo bugged as it was an aoe that only dealt damage to 1 enemy in the aoe and no one else with the initial burst of damage now it hits everything
