It might be the camera angle, but also Trackman, at least in my experience, doesn’t resize the strike zone for the hitter. So the width of the plate is accurate, but the height of the zone could be slightly off. That might contribute to it.

No player is up there hacking as much as these guys were, and the pitchers are going to work the corners of the zone a lot more. We saw it with tosh’s one at bat. When every pitch is borderline, it’s a lot harder to get them correct.

A few suggestions but great video: -Make each ump call the same amount of pitches (not fouled or hit) -Calculate their accuracy off of the amount that were not fouled or hit or swung. (Thats how the real accuracy is calculated so the current scores are inflated)

2:15 as an umpire myself, you are taught to not verbalize a ball, just signal where it was with your hand.

Umpire scorecards only counts pitches that were taken by the hitter. Their averages are all inflated by swing and misses and foul balls.

Well the takes are the only ones that matter, no? I mean if someone hits a HR, the matter of whether the pitch was a strike, or ball is irrelevant. Same is true with a swing and miss.
