"Gakku Dausy" is a kazakh music TV channel, organizes concerts every year in an open air. Dimash was a headliner of the festival. In 2017 about 150K people came to see the concert . The concert lasted around 5 hours and everyone waited Dimash till the end.

Dimash had already sung a couple of other songs before this one. Gakku is a TV station. They organize a festival every year. This is the legendary D8 for 5 seconds and with vibrato. It is off the piano. Record in live performance. A Chinese singer hit E8 in laboratory setting in multiple attempts and very thin Dimash wrote the music when he was 17.

This "Gakku" festival took place in September 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is said that the city center was paralyzed on the day of the concert. More than 150,000 spectators gathered in the central square of the city. Many came then only because of Dimash. Dimash performed at the end of the concert and sang 5 songs. It was evident that Dimash was relaxed on stage because the competition in China was behind him. The festival is not a competition - the proceeds were donated to local hospitals.

How high? Just put it in perspective, the highest vocal note by a male is F#8 by Amirhossein Molaei (Iran) who had been working on his whistle register for years just to prepare for this attempt. Meanwhile Dimash was singing D8 for 5s in vibrato casually.

Great Reaction! In an interview, Dimash indicated the note was not intentional. He usually sings a G7 for this part of the song, but it didn't materialize. So he hit the D8, and let it ride. What else does a singer do when he has to improvise??? Speaks to dolphins??

I've always heard they were expecting 30,000......and estimates of between 120,000 and 150,000 showed up, paralyzing the city of Almaty!! Hahaha!!! Yes--you are right--"Unforgettable Day" is the name of the song he wrote when he was in his teens. In it, he sings of how one day he saw the girl of his dreams...that unforgettable day. Such a great song, with such an easy, fantastic, memorable, singable, "hook." He had a concert in another Kazakh city (Astana) in June 2017 where 40,000 showed up, before this one in the fall. I've also heard that he had remarked how this was one unforgettable day for him with this particular concert, returning home to his beloved Kazakhstan months after The Singer 2017 in a personal celebration and triumph after exploding on the music scene in China, surrounded by SOOOO many of his countrymen who were SOOOO proud of him. To say he was happy that day was an understatement. BTW--he's said that he hadn't planned that now famous D8--it was just spontaneous. 'Guessing the joyous atmosphere certainly helped!!
