@@pranavaw7376 The stereotype is kinda innacurate tbh, i'm not butthurt bc i'm italian or anything like that, it's just that 99% of italians are as white as you can be, maybe people from some regions in the south like Sicily and Calabria may tend to have a more "olive looking" skin but even there is not that common. Maybe 100 years ago when we emigrated to the USA it was more common (?) idk.

One thing that VoicePlay really spark out from other groups is the humours. Groups like ptx and home free have talents obviously, but geoff and the crews know how to make everything entertaining while combining with music :) even with boring music theories and writing process still manage to make me laugh like a potato. That is the reason why I still keep on rewatching their version of elvira

Voice Play has the theatrics down flat. Their skits are mini plays and all are good actors. Home Free has really humorous songs too. It’s All About the Bass, Songs That Didn’t Make the Cut, and what are we thinking while we are singing are three that come to mind. What HF is outstanding at from other groups is their off script shenanigans and audience interactions. And unexpected guests like Satchmo and Tim’s nephew dancing. And blowing out the sound system. And…well you get the idea. Voice Play produces superior humorous videos, I believe. Pentatonic has some great talent but I think they were too disorganized to be effective. I blame their manager, (I say as if I knew anything about it). But with Avi gone and Kirstin leaving, with new blood there’s hope yet. Sorry I’ve run on so, I’m an old lady, taken my meds hours ago and way past my bedtime, so may not be coherent. I may delete this whole comment tomorrow.

This video was literally just the one I needed right now. I perform in various festivals, which have of course been cancelled, and so we are moving online for the year. This means we can do things that we couldn't normally do, like complex vocal arrangements, as they won't be drowned out by being performed on a windy hill with three deafening drum crews.

Very thoughtful of you to help others learn to be their best at singing and arranging. So many entertainers just share their finished products and hope you’ll buy their music and come to their concerts. Precious few take the time to make helpful videos for those who aspire to be like them. Your explanations are easy to understand, humorous, and interesting. Bravo Zulu, sir! I look forward to much more awesome content from you and VoicePlay (and someday, from those you inspire).

I just wanted to say thank you for the work you put into your music. I always get really excited to hear your songs and I'll be a fan forever. I have a vocal range almost identical to yours and you've really helped me get more comfortable with my voice and listening to the way you sing has helped me improve my techniques tremendously. Your music is a constant inspiration to me and your performances have been unbelievably helpful to me. So, again, thank you

Great info! I have noticed Geoff's arrangements are pretty simple like he stated. Very straight forward, easy to find your part and sing along. Layne is a little rough on his bass and his T1. I wonder if it's because he's known them both a while and just likes to push them. Side note, I'm not a T2 (mezzo soprano, actually), but I do sing lullabies in Klingon. It actually DOES help the little ones sleep! 💤

That was really interesting! I often wondered how the arrangements come about so thanks for explaining it so well that a layman like me could understand it 🙂

This is really interesting. Thanks Geoff. You could market your rehearsal tracks. The Acapella Company does. It's a great way to learn new things and make music accessable to people. I always love to hear about the creative process.
