I'm not doc or anything nearby to videos context. I really liked the command over langauge, clear voice and narration. Good job👍

Sounds like you've had quite an adventure. Getting a foreign position, a flight immediately after a marathon, and having to anxiously await your medical degree getting approved all successively would've driven me crazy. Congrats on pulling it all off!

I can relate to what you went through because I’m in the process of applying for the UKFP. The process is easier for me than it was for you I think (and I don’t have to worry about prepping for a marathon 😅). I’ve had to take a gap year & I agonized so much about it at first but like you said a year isn’t much time lost. I’m happy everything worked out for you and I wish you all the best with being a doctor there. I’m looking forward to more videos about your experience!

Would you consider to Montreal Canada, you may never not regret for moving there. I recently visited the country and the lifestyle is so different in a positive way. People are very friendly and you actually feel better there

Hello...thanks for the vidéo 🥰 Are you working as an INTERNE or is it a residency program ?
@DoctorSarahinSwitzerland2 жыл бұрын
There aren't really residency programmes per se. You work as an 'intern' and complete your residency by securing posts in a 'mix and match' approach. I explain this in the video dropping today :)

Dear dr Sarah, I’m full of admiration for your move to Switzerland and am thinking about it myself. I’m a consultant. I recently contacted a German medical recruitment company who recruit to Switzerland. They said it’s almost impossible to relocate from uk to Switzerland! Can I get some advice ?

Hi, thank you so much for your video. I’m an F1 in the UK but French national, can’t find anything videos or blogs on how to apply… on the MEBEKO website I read nonEU degrees have to do the MCQ for degree conversion? Or is that the exception rule you mention that UK and Switzerland have an agreement? Also, Can you get into competitive specialties like surgery? Lastly, do you know if speaking German is a requirement to work in German Switzerland if I already speak fluent French and English? Thank you so much!

Hi - Can anyone give me an indication of how much a Gyno specialist earns in Switzerland? I was told that in places like Luzern there are too many and that I should not even try. Also, private clinics make deals that are not very good for doctors and we end up giving too much away. An acquaintance said that she makes 120k a year being a senior doctor in Gyno in Bern. She works 5 days a week - 50% in a public hospital and the remaining in a private clinic. This seems very low... particularly considering she's a senior physician and online says that average salary is above 300k CHF a year

Hey Sarah, Thank you for the video. Do you know if people who have full GMC registration can work in Switzerland too? Or do I have to have graduated from a UK university to be eligible. I got my GMC registration through exams but not sure if this would be the same. Also, Any idea about the language requirements? in terms of German speaking Switzerland? Thank you :)
@DoctorSarahinSwitzerland2 жыл бұрын
In terms of language requirements, a C1 level is usually required but it's not a hard and fast rule (some hospitals accept B1-B2 as long as you are in the process of learning but that is rare). I'm in the process of making a video about license recognition for EU/non-EU doctors in Switzerland.

Hi, I'm doing this at the moment but many jobs say you need your degree recognised before even applying. Can you get your MBBS recognised there? Thanks.
@DoctorSarahinSwitzerland2 жыл бұрын
You need to finish F1 to get your full GMC registration to then get it recognised by MEBEKO. MBBS isn't sufficient. Hope that helps!
