Andrew, what I appreciate about you the most is the transparency. Through good or bad times you have kept it real. I remember in your email you said you cried after you $2mil loss, nobody admits such a thing except for someone who is truly honest with himself and others. Good for you man, never change.

Thank you for your support and kind words! Transparency is important to me, as it helps build trust with my followers and students. I believe in being open and honest, even when it comes to tough moments like the $2 million loss. It's not always easy, but it's the right thing to do. I appreciate your understanding and encouragement to keep being true to myself. Thank you for being a part of the BearBullTraders community.

Hi Samuel, for me, the best setup is DAS+IB. Some traders are using DAS+TDA to avoid commissions (you only pay ECN comms with TDA) with a decent success. They report that sometimes at the open, in the first minute, they are not filled, but this is rare and does not affect adversely their experience with DAS+TDA. I hope this helps you!

Swing trading can be a good option for those who are looking to trade part-time, as it often involves holding positions for a few days to a few weeks. This longer time frame can allow for more flexible scheduling, as you don't have to be constantly monitoring the markets throughout the day.

I was a part-timer but will be back hopefully soon. From my limited experience, it would be seriously unwise for someone to day trade full time. The added pressure of not being able to pay your bills would almost definitely cause one to overtrade and trade impulsively. It probably wouldn't be long before they abandoned their tradebooks.
@BearBullTraders
@BearBullTraders Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience. I completely agree with your perspective on the added pressure of day trading full-time. Can you share more about your approach to trading as a part-timer and what you believe are the benefits of this approach?
@antonthery1497
@antonthery1497 Жыл бұрын
@@BearBullTraders Sure. I'm fortunate because my job allows me the opportunity to trade for the first hour or two of the trading day. As a result of reading/studying each of your books, I knew I could funnel down some of the strategies and focus on them particularly since I was trading at that the open only. Since I wouldn't be trading at mid-morning, afternoon, or near the close, I could refine my tradebook quite easily. So the largest benefit for me as a part-time trader was refining my core strategies and focusing the vast majority of my education on those strategies. If you're trading throughout the whole day, it would be easy to be executing one strategy but see things on the chart that would tempt you to trade a different strategy. In my view, this would cause more psychological temptation and confusion. I think it's very beneficial to know early on that one is a part-time trader and trading at a particular time of day; therefore, a tradebook comes quicker and the refinement of your tradebook takes less time. Being a full time trader, one could easily fall into the trap of trading too many strategies at once and moving back and forth between them. I could see this as a detriment to their account's health.

🔥Who else is trading part-time here? Have you found the psychological pressure to be less just because you already got your bills covered?

Absolutely, I sent you an email in Jan 2023 showing my P&L from 2022, In 2020 I lost my job, got a half decent severance and thought I could trade fulltime. I had a year of part time trading under my belt so I thought no problem I can do this, but the psychological pressure and lack of experience made me realize I was not ready. So I continued to tweak my strategy, read, practice and trade with minimal risk to protect my capital until I could be more consistent, but I found a job first and It wasn't until I was working again that my trading turned the corner and I became more constant. I'm three years in and now my trading is more consistent than ever (part time). Small goals and strict rules allows me to bring in a half decent part time income. Andrew, thank you for your inspiration, transparency and education. I continue to learn and thrive every day.

Have you ever showed your real trading account? With the stated amount in your title? Or are you trying to flog some snake oil? To gullible people.

@Bear Bull Traders it's just hard to take you seriously after the previous video. It makes sense why you were pushing to sell your membership so much though.

@@AClay-mv2xh I would just like to note that Andrew as well as the BBT community are comprised of very talented and professional traders. For anyone who really understands the psychological obstacles in day trading, they too will understand what exactly happened when Andrew took a big loss. His loss is not different from the losses of many of the most successful day traders out there. When you go into the "Market Wizards" books by Jack Schwager, you will see that many of the world's most successful traders had instances like Andrew had in 2022. I personally have had the benefit of learning from the BBT community. I have been trading just shy of 1 year and have developed consistency of profits. While I have conducted intensive research to be where I'm at now, it was Andrew and the BBT community he developed that really allowed all the information I discovered to come together and really make sense allowing me to become the type of trader I am today.

@@AClay-mv2xh And still you are here! Thanks for that! For me is more about the millionaire mindset and the resilience that allows us not only to make millions but also to handle the ups and downs of losing millions and making it back again. Trading and businesses are about that, winning and handling the losses!

It should be the other way around! I can't take someone seriously who doesn't admit they also make mistakes. Especially when it's about trading. If you wanna be successful in trading leave your pride/ego at the door😅
