I got confused, in the beginning the lead character was a girl, the Dogman called her "sis" then after grandpa rescued her, she was called a boy later on... so what is it? Girl or boy?

I kniw st marry,s Montana my mom lived and was well I won't get into that at this time it's brutal but iams vary familiar with that area she lived in Stevensville we whent to that and around that mountain alot I even know a hided lake on it towrds the top allegedly onley a few of the hard-core locals knew of it of coarse the last time I was out that way was in the early 1990,s so I don't doubt things might have changed a bit but than again it allways had kind if a slower world feel than the goid old 816 k.c. m.o. type area
