In this video, I share my personal journey to becoming an art therapist, which was a process of discovering my authentic creativity and fully accepting myself as I am. I went from studying visual arts to finding deeper meaning and connection in my own creative work and career as a Jungian art therapist.
If you're interested in working with me, applications for my Jungian art online program, Unveiling the Unconscious, are now open: www.iabet.fi/j...

It was courageous of you to tell a bit of your story. Your path has not been easy but it seems that you are exactly where you should be! All the best, and I wonder if Carl Jung would talk a little about synchronicity here 🙂

I can relate so much to what you've said! Having studied Fine Art in post secondary I can confirm the established academic study is not really about nurturing the creative impulse or developing style. After graduating I struggled to be creative but ultimately left it behind for the most part for a long time. I'm just now starting to learn a new approach, aided by your videos and commentary! So thank you for doing the work and facilitating this journey for the rest of us!

Thank You for This Video! This helped me so much! Particularly when u stated to accept that we aren’t supposed to know the meaning behind what we make. It’s about the journey!

The ending brought me to tears. My path is very similar to yours, I too didn't speak almost at all for the majority of my childhood and found similar problems in my art education. I also studied psychology but mostly went in the direction of energy studying and learned so much about creativity from that path. Thank you for sharing your story. I, too, was told that my facilitation style was soothing and made people feel safe. Quiet is a great trait ❤

Since having discovered your channel, I have looked forward to each new post. I especially appreciate your calm, quiet, measured voice and thoughtful tone. Your knowledge and personal experience shine through. I have just bought a range of painting and drawing supplies with the aim of learning to use them expressively and non-judgmentally. I hope for more of your videos, to help me in this regard. Thank you.

So much of what you said resonates with me, both in terms of personality and challenges; being an introverted creative person in an extroverted world. I get so much from your videos! Thank you.

I love what you shared and I found a deep connection with your experience. Art has always been my best language and I struggle like many do with whether or not my art is good. It is a constant challenge for me to affirm that what I create does not have to meet anyone else’s approval and at the same time I stay open to learn. I love your gentle expression which displays confidence and intelligence to me. Thank you for being so open (and brave!).

I am so loving your content and your story. Thank you for sharing yourself in this way. I can relate to so much of what you said, and it can be hard to be an introvert in this world. Your quietness has great power.

Im so jealous.I'm 60 next year and wanted to do an art therapy degree at 17.but I had horrendous debilitating social phobia having had a breakdown at school.I never did do a degree at all.I resonate with so many things you say and have been wanting to study jungian psychology and art for years.I feel it is too late as you always have to have done an art degree first. If you have any advice about courses I could pursue without a basic degree first, I would be very interested.I am very interested in your course,
