Mary, thanks so much for being there. I'm also an (aspiring) female entrepreneur myself, and this morning I literally couldn't leave my bed due to fear. I know the reason why I procrastinate because I simply so scared that I will not be able to accomplish whatever I aim for and I'm provocative even when things go well. Obviously I just want to succeed on the first trial without iterating it. I am having hard times really. My biggest fear is that not achieving my potential because of procrastination

You are so not alone in this feeling and that paralyzing fear of starting. Recognizing where your fear comes from is the best and biggest first step. Take it one day at a time - focus on just getting up and making your bed, then brushing your teeth, making coffee and answering one email… two emails. Work your way through each step and shorten your to-do list to make it feel more manageable, recognize you can do it and celebrate yourself when you do accomplish even the small things 💖 you got this!

Thank you for sharing. Do you have examples for those rewards / treats you are talking about? (non-food)
@maryoforiattah
@maryoforiattah 18 күн бұрын
yes! I always suggest finding rewards that are specific to you and what you love. let's say you start journaling and stay consistent for two weeks, you can reward yourself with a new notebook or pens/highlighters so that experience becomes even more enjoyable. or you're prioritizing tidying up everyday and after a month of that consistency you reward yourself to a new plant for your home that you'll enjoy in your space. a few other ideas are: coffee mug after making coffee at home more, candle after prioritizing meditation, make-up bag after decluttering and organizing, placemats and table runner after eating dinner at the table instead of the tv, fun pillow cases after making your bed consistently, etc. I'm always happy to help you find a reward that is specific to your goals and likes 💖

Hey beloved love this video! Thanks for sharing. I am a chronically disabled person and want to do a lot. Got sick after surgery and became a widow and ill which has been the case for the last almost 13 years next month but I want to help other and have been finding hard because my health is a huge factor which makes me feel like a lazy person but I know it’s my physical condition that makes it difficult but I still want to function? Any advice since you own a business and chronically ill yourself! Hope all is well❤ keep shining beloved

I’m so sorry you’re navigating all of this and you’re not alone. I have a video that’s coming out this week all about discipline and chronic pain to help you tackle each day better. For me the biggest things have been routine and setting realistic expectations - when you live with chronic pain you can’t do and live like others, which is tough but when you set expectations that are aligned with you and what you can do you’ll find freedom and joy in life, even on the not so great days 💖 sending you love!

Thats my problem. I can't figure out why I procrastinate.
@maryoforiattah
@maryoforiattah 19 күн бұрын
it’s not easy to identify what the cause is but take some time, reflect and listen to your gut when you start procrastinating. write it out or share it with someone close to you and you’ll soon see what that emotion that’s holding you back is so you can start taking steps forward and break that procrastination habit. you got this!

You’re not alone! Have you tried writing out everything first thing in the morning? Its called a brain dump and you just free flow write for three pages to help clear things out and make lists if it helps. Also try setting alarms for every 10m when you’re trying to stay on task, that way if you wander the alarm will go off and you’ll get a cue to get back on track. May be worth trying! You got this 💖

so,what are we going to do with "trigger"? after we locate the trigger ,what should we do with that triggers? should we meditate or journaling or ........ please let me know
@maryoforiattah
@maryoforiattah Ай бұрын
great question! I personally find journaling to be the most helpful to unpack where the trigger is coming from, if it's a childhood wound that keeps coming up, my anxiety writing an untrue narrative or a mental habit I keep repeating. Journaling helps me understand it, see it for what it is and remove my emotions from it therefore taking away its power. I also use affirmations to 're-write' the trigger - so if it's a fear, I speak affirmations that contradict that fear. For example if I'm afraid of being seen my affirmations will focus on taking up space, being heard, using my voice, etc. Identifying and healing the trigger wont happen over night but its small steps like these that can help you move through the trigger and not let it keep you stuck. I hope that helps!
