@@joyoflife_lifeofjoy I'm so excited to hear your tips! Have you been to Korea or will you plan to go there anytime soon? I guess I'm just feeling down because it seems like this is a language that is so hard, for a few diffrent reasons, the most being that people speak so fast, and also did you ever feel this way - the books or grammar can explain something, but when I hear it spoken, I hear different endings or particles of words. Well, I really don't want to give up! You're SO amazing for how you learnt all of this on your own!

yes, I have been to Korea twice already and I’m going again in August. it is true that spoken Korean can sound different to textbook Korean and obviously it’s very fast but I think if you keep listening to spoken Korean and practice more, you’ll get used to it!

@@joyoflife_lifeofjoy I hope so! That I will get used to the language and improve, i mean. I want to ask you for help since u already reached the position im aiming for. i am studying Korean and I would say im like intermediate rn. I want to ask you some recommendations on like novels I can read. I haven't read a single books yet but I feel like I don't wanna start with kid novels. Also, before practicing speaking do u recommend like reading or like doing it both at the same time. Also, I started studying like properly this year so how long do u think I can start speaking like 1 year minimum? 2 years? btw nice content like I have been looking for someone like u who is like speaking naturally and like nearly completed the topik exam. keep it up😁
@joyoflife_lifeofjoy Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment! Forst of all I’m proud of you for studying and striving to get better. To be honest I didn’t start reading Korean books until I could already speak quite fluently but I think you could also do it at the same time. Here are some of the books I already read that I would recommend: 아몬드 - 손원평 나는 나로 살기로 했다 - 김수현 그만두길 잘한 것들의 목록 - 서윤후 the last two aren’t really novels but I haven’t read that many myself yet. I might make a video about book recommendations once I’ve read some more. Regarding your other question about how long it takes to speak fluently - I feel like it really depends on how much you practice. Just learning with books won’t take you far if you never practice speaking so that’s something I recommend doing. If you have no one to talk to, even just talking to yourself helps as long as you get into a state where it’s natural and you don’t have to translate in you head anymore but can just form sentences in Korean. This goes for any language you’re learning. For me it took about 2 years but if I had practiced speaking from the beginning, I think I could have done it faster. Be patient with yourself and never give up! You got this, I believe in you! 화이팅!

@@joyoflife_lifeofjoy 정말 감사합니다. I really appreciate ur response. now that I thought about it, I feel like I should start reading after like I reach a certain point of being able to speak and like read well. If im being honest, I would love to practice my speaking as soon as possible so if you could recommend how to practice speaking I would really appreciate it. I know that like i can practice on my own like talking to myself but like idk where to start. like if I try to change my whole thoughts on like Korean like I will get stuck every time I try to make sentence. so I have zero idea how to start. like for example lets say I want to search for something today in KZbin and watch it, is me searching in Korean going to help me like form sentences and eventually improve my speaking? im really sorry if im asking soo much but I feel like I found finally someone who I can gain something valuable from. 진짜 고마어요

I would say that watching Korean content (for example youtube videos or dramas) is the best way to get used to the natural sound of the language and how to form sentences. Eventually it won’t feel that difficult anymore. Just start somewhere and keep going, you got this😊
