Finally a short, simple tutorial. Straight to the point, just as I like it. Thanks!

You can also get some rather interesting rhythms if you choose the carrier as an external source, such as routing it to a channel with a lead or pluck on it, then playing with the "dry/wet" and "enhance" so you're just getting part of the signal going in. You can get different grooves to the hats this way.
@sleepinghope3644 жыл бұрын
You can also do this with the arpegiator, and honestly you can get really good movement

Sounds interesting! Can you explain please?

@@------YeahOK------ kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3O6q3-qip53m5I Easy example, and you can also play with the gate knob from the arpegiator, and midi pitch from ableton to pitch it down or up sometimes. Just play with it.

How do you make a baseline like as in that song? Which notes? I like the trick actually. I like the advice! I sometimes do modular as well. And then it is nice to modulate decay of hats,

Nice tip. Ran pan in sampler (simpler?) would be a nice complementary technique, or use M4L LFO tool with a random pattern on pretty much anything you like.

i find putting vocoder on my closed hat group glues them together well. Dont like it on my open hat as it goes too stereo and gets lost in the mix.

Dots Per Inch I find logics own bit-crusher is quite good for the texture on the hats and if you’re using midi you can obvs use the modulator thing for the LFO business. What did u find?

A year into producing and I already know something that Noize is talking about feels great! I can't seem to grasp how OTT works tho... no matter how much I read about that. Maybe you can help? Especially on leads I find it difficult.
@mlrd66224 жыл бұрын
Hey there, OTT gives it more punch + volume in essence. Hope that helped.
@michaelduff23824 жыл бұрын
OTT basically splits a sound up into 3 frequency bands (low, mid, and high) and squashes the volume of each to be more uniform. You'll often find that it gets rid of mud and brings out sparkly highs. But, given that the very name OTT stands for Over The Top, you'll often find that a setting of 100% is too drastic, so just put OTT on a sound and dial the Dry/Wet to taste. That's the best way to figure out what it's doing to a sound. I even sometimes put OTT on the master channel at a very low Dry/Wet setting
@michaelduff23824 жыл бұрын
@Derilect Jhonez I know that, I meant like it squashes them together

Hey Fabio, my leads don’t sound solid and direct, like they have constant presence in the mix. I don’t really know how else to explain it, but would you have any idea why?
@GuyGamer14 жыл бұрын
You likely need to EQ some room in your other instruments where the fundamental frequency of your lead is.

There are so many factors that could be contributing to this but most likely your sound design and balance
