As you said about Christmas, people don’t care how much you spend on them. I bet a lot of your loved ones wouldn’t care if you even got them anything. It’s all about being together. If you have to have a less expensive Christmas this year, it’s nothing to be ashamed or feel guilty or sad about. You seem like a very thoughtful person and can come up with some great gift ideas without having to spend a ton. Sending you a hug. Money anxieties suck!

I think a nice personalized loaf of bread from your new kit would be so sweet & cost effective! You can then distribute the saved money on super close loved ones and make the most of it while feeling good. Just a thought.

Thanks again for being so candid. Maybe have an envelope to contribute to monthly for your skiing pass and lessons as a sinking fund. Instead of presents maybe ask family and friends to contribute whatever they can to your lessons and pass - experience over presents? You got this ❤

Zoe, you should set up sinking fund categories for your ski pass as well as your aura ring subscription. A little bit each much is easier to handle than end of the year surprise costs. Love the video! 🙌🏼🙏🏼

I'm feeling absolutely awful about finances this month, after buying a home in the summer and just spending so much to fix it up for our move in, and the unexpected expenses that popped up... I've been ignoring my typical monthly reset because it scares me that so much money has exited my account (even if it was mostly planned!!). We still have an emergency fund but I've always been a saver so it scares me. Just thankful my family does a $100 secret Santa gift exchange so that will save my Christmas.

I feel you on the car front. I took mine in for winter tires and found out I needed brakes (rotors) and to replace 4 coils. The three days without a car made me appreciate the privilege . . . But no part of me wanted to end the year with a $2700 car repair. It really makes you appreciate savings/investments.

Hi Zoe, I'm a new sub here. I was exactly like you for many years and tried many budgeting tools. I just switched from Cash Evenlopes to the YNAB budgeting app, and for the first time in my adult years, I can breathe. Personal finance is what exactly is PERSONAL, so YNAB may not work for your lifestyle. I wanted to share my experience with you! Good luck with your journey. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.

If the ski pass and lessons are non-negotiables, enter them into your budget tracker sinking fund in 2025. You’d have a ball park figure of the total costs and it’d be a lot easier for you to split it across 10ish months! You can always request some cash for your Christmas gifts from your family and friends so you can always include it in your ski fund for the next year! ❤️ I noticed that your income has taken a dip consistently this year, especially after you reduced your copywriting hours. Have you considered increasing your copywriting hours to tide you through your lower earning months from KZbin, especially in months where your content engagement are low and sponsorships are sporadic?

Do you have a yearly overview for your foreseeable expenses? 😊 If not, just take a calendar with a year at a glance and jot down all variable expenses you can foresee, e.g., birthday/Chistmas/anniversary gifts, vacation, ski pass, expensive new purchases, random insurance payment. This way you can see in one overview which months are very pricey and when you will need additional amounts of money. For the emergency fund it really depends on what you own and what you would have to pay for. What happens if JS loses his job? If you lose one of your jobs? If Maggie needs a complex surgery? If your car breaks down? These would be the first things that come to mind for me for your situation.

My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.

I feel one Of the greatest challenges that we first timers face in the ma rket is that we end up losing all we have, making it difficult to find ourselves back to our feet. My biggest advice is to always seek the services of a professional just like I did when I ventured into it for the first time. Big thanks to Larysa Caba. I now make huge profits by weekly through her services while still learning to stand on my own.

I have never seen a trader as open and transparent as Larysa Caba with her clients. The way she decides to make a profit for her clients. she allows you to express your fears and she still rests your fears and that is my respect. I don't normally comment on videos, but this word should be included. she is really cool.

It's your vehicle registration. Same as Ontario, every other province and territory in Canada as well as in most US states. Granted, it's probably more expensive in Québec than elsewhere, but part of the proceeds are used to finance public transit.

Regarding the business finances: I struggled as well with having enough money in there. After incorporating the Profit-first-System it changed so much! I have enough money (plus extra) for taxes, making a profit with every payment I get and have allotted enough money for expenses and paying myself. It’s like envelope budgeting but with percentages and really easy to set up. The original book is written for the US, but my business is located in Germany and I still could incorporate it. There are a lot of KZbin Videos on there and the book is a quick read - def look into that to your life easier! 😊

This may or may not be the case but I don’t think the increase is because of the accident that was not your fault. Car thefts in Canada, in particular Ontario & Montreal last year was at it’s all time high. I got the award from my insurance company to congratulate me on having the highest stolen vehicle for 2023-2024 and my reward was my new price of 3200 per year, which is up from 1800 last year. My family’s insurance has all gone up from 30-45 per month and their cars didn’t even make the list. Maybe the accident for you was the cherry on top lol

i know not everywhere does it, but i recommend signing up for the free rewards/membership system that some stores have. ex. target! most stores that do that will either email/text you a receipt or allow you to log in and view your digital receipt. it can be very helpful if you forgot to grab a receipt and what to know where your money went!

So I bet the license for your car is now based on your purchase price you paid … the more your car costs the more the license or registration … here in the US we pay annual registration based on what we paid for our car ( more since you bought a new car) Glenda

Re the emergency fund - if it were me I would look at the total of your necessary expenses (looks like roughly 2k if you count fixed expenses, groceries, gas to get to work, and Maggie) and use that to determine an appropriate number, turns out 6k actually would satisfy the recommendation for 3 months expenses! and if you were in the situation where you truly were pulling on the emergency fund to survive on you could likely find creative ways to bring down the grocery budget, and if it really came down to a worst case scenario and you couldn’t come up with the rent money it’s not like JS would kick you to the curb. 10k does sound like a nice satisfying number, but 6k is great as well, and the difference isn’t worth punishing yourself over. just my two cents 🫶🏻
