It’s honestly really funny looking back at this video after seeing a thomas story book tweet which said James came to sodor as an 0-6-0 and was given the bogie and extended footplate after his first day crash

@@tonyhakston536 That same picture also pretty closely resembles the J11 compared to the later illustrations with a more domed firebox and altered cab windows. Only real variation in the black James from a J11 would be James would appear to be carrying the smokebox further ahead of the front drivers. Either way, it wouldn't be hard in Sodor lore to make a case that James was a rebuild engine from a wreck, or like Henry was a one off experimental, purchased, wrecked, and rebuilt, albeit not as extensively as Henry.

It took some real skill adding the ponytruck and extending the foot plate, and you did an excellent job. James has always been one of my favorites, and you couldn't have picked a better model for him.

Tug, thank you for re-uploading all of your videos. They got me back into Thomas with a new appreciation for it after I left it in 2017. I’ve also shown some of them to my family, along with Trampy’s movies and Project Tiger Moth. This was the first one I showed them and they think it’s pretty interesting what the Thomas fandom does. I remember you said at some point that you were gonna review all of the Star Wars movies in the style of the Cars video, do you still have plans to do that? It’d be interesting to see what my dad would think of that lol. Anyway, thank you again for these wonderful videos.

I was almost gonna use this engine to do my own custom James but I instead went with shapeways and they had the l&yr class 28 although they nicknamed it the 29 cuz it had all the true James features. You should check it out if you ever decide to redo James. They have other similar ones you my like as well

Hey tugs I found a Fowler tender shell on eBay and it’s much cheaper or you just had to do is repaint it and do the lining and the number, but all though there is a problem you’re gonna have to rip the shell off from James’s tender and replaced it with the Fowler shell

Creo que thomas y james son como henry, prototipos; solo que a diferencia de el, no fueron tan desastrosos, ya que eran totalmente funcionales ademas de que si eran las clases que habia pedido sir topham hatt solo con el bogie en james y el tamaño reducido en thomas, los cuales no eran problemas que interfirieran en su funcionamiento como lo era la firebox de henry
