That is a pretty cool desk setup. Having built my own desk, though much simpler in design, I love watching other peoples desk builds. I love the creative way you used the front of the desk as a display cabinet, as well as the casters for moving it around easily. Good job.

Really great video, especially if it’s your first one! My TV recommended this to me so it’s probably picking up steam right now. I hope in future you can do atleast the cutting part of woodworking elsewhere 😅

Definitely give us an update later on. It seems to me that the middle section might not have enough support long term, but hopefully that’s not the case. I have been thinking of a similar setup for my workbench, you have definitely given me some ideas!

Loved how you implemented all your ideas into this one thing to make it your very own! Also I envy your shelfing system. Does that have a name, or is it also a result of your ideas?
@sondlers9 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! The shelving system is self built unfortunately - it’s basically an interpretation of the „Sticks“ project by architecture firm Hou de Sousa.

It’s Christmas Day. I’ve watched one video from one channel that has one video and one short. This was fantastic, the colourful shelves on the thumbnail are what attracted me, I love the design and the storytelling. Can’t wait for the next one! Subscribed 😀

Really fun and interesting video! I'm curious to know if you followed any sort of guide for the wall shelf behind your desk when making it, or if that style shelf has a specific name?
@sondlersКүн бұрын
@@flarck Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately not, but it’s pretty similar to the „Sticks“ project by architecture firm Hou de Sousa. I’ll probably be building another for the bedroom soon and making a video about it!

This is so cool! How do you manage with two different working heights while using your desk? I have a sit/stand desk at the moment, but i'd like to go back and built something by myself. Still lacking confidence to find the right height
@sondlers11 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words and being the very first comment on my channel :) Short answer: height adjustable chair Long answer: It works surprisingly well, and I really like the feeling of «changing workmode». When I work in a lower position I can have my feet on the floor, and in higher position I can rest them on the frame. I put a lot of thought into finding a good height for the screen to be at in open position (the lower the better). For now I’m using two different chairs, but I’ll be investing in a height adjustable chair soon. The biggest problem for me now is actually the distance from my eyes to the screen, which is way to small. I’m currently working on a solution for it.

hey. Great idea. Though have you checked if the rear narrow piece of bamboo board is sagging? Looks like it has no support over a long span? The slppy MDF might not be up to task?
@sondlers5 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words and the tip! I’ll be looking into that, there’s definitely need for a few tweaks here and there and I’m curious how it holds up over time.
