I know this is an older video but your enclosure looks great! I just built a 75 gallon paludarium for my fire bellied toads! Also nobody is Tanner Serpa lol. Don’t listen to the haters. Just do your best! And always improve your skills. :)

It turned out so beautifully! I've been intimidated by diy backgrounds but look forward to finding some bravery someday. 😂 I'm super interested in how you balance care for both the water and the land in this!

Maybe I can make a video on that in the future! You should definitely try a diy background it’s fun!

@@JessicasAnimalFriends Haha thanks! I thinks it decent but definitely not as fancy as this. As of now I just have Fire Bellied Toads, Axolotls, and salt water fish, along with two cats, I want to keep some sort of reptile like a Blue Tongue or Emerald skink and Gargoyle Gecko in the future, but I'm probably going abroad this fall so I can't really get anything new right now. Your channel and Reptilian garden at least let me experience some of these awesome animals vicariously.

Nice build! And your firebellies look happy. As a side note I found my firebellies to really enjoy a strong current ,I would place the filter pumps on there side to push the water around. Not a criticism just a personal observation from my own setups.

I love Jackson, he is adorable. I would love to give him hugs and smoochies lol. I miss my Labrador hugs. Hey it is your build, your design SO as long as it pleases you and your froggies its nobody elses bidnez lol. I like what you did. At first I thought you would silicone rock pieces etc to the acrylic divider. However when you had finished it was nice being able to see through to the substrate and to be able to see the froggy sitting on the substrate. I was surprised you siliconed the coconut mat. Love those coconut mats on side and backgrounds as my Leos love to climb it :0) Ps. Oh boy expanding foam is SOOOO messy. Gloves and old clothes are a must for me as I ALWAYS get it on me lol Pps I am so tempted to get frogs especially when I see your Whites Tree Frogs :0) . I would love to build a palludarium with a waterfall in it :0) Pps I have a new Baby Leo hatched out today! The first of 2021. I incubated for males as I wanted another couple of males so now I have an addition to my Leo Family. I am a happy Daddy lol.
@JessicasAnimalFriends3 жыл бұрын
Omg congrats on the leo baby!! How exciting! Frogs are lovely. All frogs, even my very chaotic whites tree frogs lol. Yeah I’m happy with the design overall I just wish I had measured the acrylic a little bit lower. Oh well!
@starbyray78283 жыл бұрын
@@JessicasAnimalFriends Thank you. It is exciting waiting for new babies to hatch. Each time the patterns and colours are different. These little guys both have bands round their bodies alternating yellow and brown but their heads and tails are banded in white and brown. The hatch mate popped out two days later.... These should be boys. I have four more in the incubator but these should be girls. Leopold their Daddy is very excited having so many girls living nearby. He accidentally met one. I forgot he was out in the play area. He had hidden behind the plant. I was feeding the girls and one decided to scramble out up my hairy arm which they cannot grip properly so I had to scoop her up and deposit her unceremoniously in the exercise area while trying not to let her fall or the Locust escape. She scurried off along the top and Mr Jungle Drums Leo thrummed his tail and grabbed hers. OH ****! I exclaimed. I Could not separate them. She was more than willing but fortunately He is not very adept. He gets TOO enthusiastic. Luckily I managed to intervene and get them apart when He released his hold on Her tail ready to grab Her again further up the bod. No shenanigans for You Good Sir and young Lady. There was much mutual disappointment on their part bless them. Phew! Any one who does not own a Leo would not believe the looks I received from both of them LOL.

HI - this is really nice, thanks for posting. I am literally in the middle of building my first paludarium for my FBTs and I am torn between clay balls vs no clay balls - I have an egg crate false bottom and read its not strictly necessary to have clay, and it would be a pain design-wise, but I was wondering what your thoughts might be on that? After seeing this, I am going to add some into the substrate though and some charcoal - Im looking forward to being bioactive for a change and the frogs are stoked at the having live plants instead of crappy plastic ones!

No need to drain the land section as the barrier was above the water line and water never collected in the land section
