Great point about the spreadsheet to stay disciplined with your card investments. I've used them myself for years since I used to be such an impulse buyer - rarely got burned but when you are investing every number you pay matters. As an investor, I don't know if you've ever checked out thePit.com. it's a great platform that not only beats eBay prices on a lot of hot cards, but if you just buy to flip, they let you store the cards for no charge. It's a lot like ComC but no transaction fee or storage fees. If they don't list a card, and it's a hot one that sells often on eBay, they'll usually add it. They also have sealed product. Let me know what you think of it.

@madness035 жыл бұрын
Joseph p the PSA 10 Lebron James rookie Topps or Topps Chrome In my opinion if one can afford it is the best investment in sports card today . For me that is the card to have .

Memorabilia Madness M&M I agree. What’s a fair price. Seems to be about 1400. Price won’t stand still

Joseph p yea anything between $1,300 & $1,400 is what you gonna pay today but I’m sure once the season starts we’re gonna see a jump on it again . That card to me is like the 86 fleer MJ it’s just going to go up with time and never come down in value . I’m hoping to get 1 soon before they take another jump .

Great episode. I like the investing in players, but I think more of investing in opportunity. For example Panini First Off the Line Products are a great investment! With exception of baseball, you get a 25% to 300% return on buying a box of FOTL and selling it. Assuming you understand FOTL. Another great investment, always buy Prizm BASKETBALL retail. IF it is Basketball Prizm in a Target, WalMart or gas station, buy it. Doesn't make a difference year etc. Same is true with Bowman Baseball retail, not as much upside as Prizm Basketball, Bowman Baseball retail is a great buy. Why? These products are price controlled and have amazing upside potential and great resell value. I'd love to hear your opinion on the newer flashy products. Prizm Basketball and NT Basketball are Capt. Obvious. What about Contenders, Draft Contenders, Baseball Prizm, etc. I think you could do an episode on the products and which to stay away from like Draft Contenders, Prizm Baseball, etc. Panini Obsidian Basketball was very popular release this year, but as investor, I would stay away. I would rip and flip, but don't hold new products. Great tips on buying. I agree. Tracking cost is important. People love to brag about the money they make, buy you will lose too. Tracking lose is good to learn and good to balance your profits. Also I suggest WatchCount for comps. Ziggy No

Don’t get me wrong but, aren’t you creating scarcity in the market by buying multiples of the same card, thus making them more expensive?
@kevinmaddog30644 жыл бұрын
What’s the big deal with Prizm? That’s all people talk about and the cards don’t even look that good and the prices to buy a box of cards is outrageous and I have been collecting for years never seen such high prices on every product.

Can't believe you think Lonzo has any shot of lasting in the NBA, let alone stating you think he'll be an all star. He shoots 41% on free throws, you can't fix him. He's markelle fultz Yips bad. To compare him to Tatum and Donovan Mitchell is asinine. Mitchell is a top 10 player in the league. Lonzo will never even be top 100; he can't shoot for shit and you can't teach that.

So if you're looking at these cards simply as an investment, isn't it bad not to diversify your portfolio? Like you wouldn't want to buy as much of 1 unproven stock as possible and nothing else. Especially athletes. Ball could become the next Greg Oden or Emmanuel Mudiay and you're screwed. He could blow out a knee, developed a coke habit or get arrested with a gun and boom, hes done and your cards are worth nothing. This reminds me or when I was a kid and was convinced Todd VanPoppel was going to be a star. I found a shoebox full of those 20 years later.

Lonzo can't stay healthy even as a young man, how you think he is going to do once he starts getting some wear and tear on him from years of playing at high intensity league? Buying his cards is not smart investing, it's a big gamble because not only is he never healthy but his scoring sucks when he is playing. My thoughts are first let me see him stay healthy, then let me see him with 2 seasons of better stats than what he has done so far. Yes his cards may be a little higher if those 2 happen but if he is as good as you think he is then there will be potential for it to go up even more. LeBron don't want to play with him and LeBron wants to win. I don't like LeBron personality but I know his work ethic and what he expects out of teammates so if he is willing to ship off Lonzo that tells me everything I need to know about him.
