I think once you catch Zygarde from the research and get access to the Zygarde Cube then you can find Zygarde Cells on Routes 👌

Every time you did the route after collecting the 2nd step of the research and not doing the 3rd step, I was screaming at my screen for you to collect the rewards before moving on. (Reading what Willow said would have told you what you needed to know about collecting Zygarde cells.)

slight route theory here: when following routes some pokémon spawn directly on the route. when you click on them they have the route symbol above their name/CP. catch that and a zygarde cell will appear nearby

Even for spoofers it's extremely difficult, maybe even impossible to obtain a 50% Forme Zygarde or even a Complete Forme one. I really hope they eventually add new ways to obtain Zygarde Cells, like they did with Mega Energy, otherwise I'm never changing my Zygarde's forme...

I was have only done three routes so my survey size is rather small but the only cell I found was on a 1km route. Also Niantic counts each route twice because you can do the forwards and backwards but only shows you the route once in the list.

I don't mind that routes aren't available to everyone yet. I'm assuming they'll eventually roll out route creation to more people. But the fact that there's currently an event going on with perks that are for routes when there are like no routes yet is pretty stupid. Not that I'm missing out on much I guess, 3/4 buddy candy distance while following a route isn't that important. I am curious about how this feature will affect the game, we'll just have to see.

The current estimate for cell spawns are between 2.5-5% base from the small amount of data. I'm going to wait for the data on how the badges work and if they have an effect on spawns in a similar way that region badges do for catch rates then decide if forming routes is something to work on or not

Only good thing in this event was a shiny Poyta. Shiny Rapidash looks awesome! Besides that, not being able to create routes as of right now and none existing in my city was a pretty big downside.

I think more people have not been given the ability to create routes because Niantic can't even keep up with the report of problem with people reporting there are no routes nearby, or the routes can't be completed because the game repeatedly pauses routes despite your walking on the available routes.

the issue of routes for me is that everytime i use a route my game will crash every five minutes

Same for me. Drove an hour to the cities, had to park and walk 20 minutes to get to the route (no parking near it) then spent over an hour walking it 3 times. The first cell showed up right as I finished the first route but disappeared. I got it again right at the end of the third time doing the route but I was ready for it and captured it. This is going to be a nightmare to get 250 even if routes were everywhere

1 route in my area its 5.5km (119 mins) to complete and not a single zygarde cell I thought I'd get it at the end and turns out your reward is a badge and the pokemon that spawn on the route which are basically everything pokwmon you'd get from an incense very disappointing

It's not really a "form" if you can't change it back. This is just a different (more difficult) way to evolve a Pokemon. I'll be waiting till we can get more before I waste these cells on evolving the 2* I got. Routes look interesting. I'll keep looking for one to show up somewhere.

This thing is still on a beta form I guess xD in Athens there is no routes and I can't even submit a route, there is no button but I traveled to a nearby city like 2 hours from Athens there was only 1 route, I did it twice and never count, plus always the route went on pause and resume by it's self, so yeah probably gonna take some months till it's glitch-ready for everyone 🤣

I walked also 3 times and got one at the end just right off to the end of the route And it was very small to see just right before the finish line so if you blink it is gone since AI go straight to the badge animation and puff it is gone. That is why I think the catching Pokemon or spending the stops are distraction s as wht the app goes to the catch/spin animation you cannot see if you get a cell. And as you approach the end please walk extra SLOW
