Thanks! I’ve heard the Atlantic Bonito is good, but have only caught one of those and at the time took it to be our Bonita. But never tried our Gulf Bonita. I’ve heard like you said if you do it right they are good. Thanks for watching!

Do you ever eat bonita? Some of my fisherman say they are ok.

@@RogerFreeman-zk6lp No I don’t. Can’t say I’ve ever tried it but after cleaning them and knowing they have a iron type taste due to the blood, I just know they are not for me. But very fun to catch and the bonus is they are good bait.

When did you get the Grady back? We only got 1 keeper red snapper this pst week in PCB. Got a nice Mahi trolling a duster too. Got a nice Amber Jack and had something pull my steel leader apart from the clamp on the leader

That was my first trip in it since I got the new (used) engine. Unfortunately it gave me some trouble coming home. My mechanic is going to come look at it. Something in the fuel system, maybe injectors need cleaning. Your catch sounds about what I’ve been experiencing as well. As soon as red snapper season opened they disappeared. It’s been so hot everything has shut down. Come back in the fall for the weekend snapper seasons. Should be good then!

@@forgottencoastfishingyeah it was very hot and even with 14oz of weight the current wasn’t allowing us to drop straight down. We were in about 120ft and bite was slow. Definitely going to make some Bonita strips next time. Caught 2 Bonita and thought about making strips but didn’t keep them. Also our livewell pump went out day 1 and got out to the spot and $40 worth of cigar minnows were dead. Had to buy a drop in pump to use the rest of the trip and it did the trick

@@forgottencoastfishing thanks. Me and my wife were talking about your videos today and she mentioned you fishing that far out by yourself. Told her you had a device connected to your life jacket for if you fell overboard

Notice my wife got me that, and the new life jacket! Also I read about some guys that were fishing out of Mississippi and their boat sank very quickly all of a sudden and one of the guys had something like that and were picked up within a couple hours by the coast guard. Put it into perspective that the technology exists and is a simple thing to do and can be the difference of coming home or not!

@@forgottencoastfishing exactly!! Even when I was stationed at Charleston and went fishing inshore for reds I gave my wife a float plan where I would be fishing just in case
