Nicely done. I know it was 8 years ago but there are new owners of these babies and we all appreciate the how to's!

This is the third video You have done I have seen. your speech is clear and clean and your pointing out the location of screws and clips is great. I wish you had found a easier way to change spark plugs on this cam an rt. I had thought about locating the plugs and cutting holes in the covers and adding rubber plugs so they would be easer to get to, but you have shown me why that wound not work. I hope someday they learn to build with the customer in mind and not the dollars into the back room of the shop. God Bless you and yours from Texas

I would NEVER install a Spark Plug without first coating the threads with antiseize compound, especially if the head is made from a different metal. Many, many years ago, I removed a Spark Plug from a Volkswagen Bug engine. Half the head came out with the plug. I was able to tap new threads in the hole without having to insert a helicoil, but I learned my lesson. The Spark Plug literally had its' threads full of aluminum from the head. If antiseize compound had been used at installation, the plug likely would have come free without any damage to the head.

Thank you for taking the time to share all your helpful How- To videos with the Spyder community. I appreciate it. Can you please tell me if there are only 2 spark plugs? That's what I'm assuming from the video. Should I just hand tighten the spark plugs only? Is hand tightening sufficient? Or after hand tightening them, should I torque the plugs a 1/4 inch turn or not? I'm not sure I don't want to break it. I greatly appreciate the help. Thank you. [2012 CAN Am Spyder Rss]

I really enjoy your videos. As a new Spyder owner, they have been very helpful. Can you tell me if you remove the airbox to change the front spark plug on a Spyder RS? Some say they just use a network of extensions and a swivel.

watch the video very helpful. i was just woundering did you put heat sink on the plugs or it's not needed. thank you jack.
@spyderstuff83987 жыл бұрын
jacques belanger - I've always put it on the plug thread to ensure there won't be a problem taking them out again. But it's probably not strictly necessary.

Is it safe to say this would be the same on a ST-S 2014?
@Sarge7077 жыл бұрын
Thanks- I did them on my 09 GS and the process seems the same EXCEPT for Taking the frame piece Off. My 2012 RT has Iridiums as standard issue SO does that mean I can get 60,000 miles (100,000k) before changing or at least 30,000 miles???
@spyderstuff83987 жыл бұрын
Sarge707 - yes you should get 100,000km from iridium plugs
@dylanpuglisi5582 жыл бұрын
you can get to it by removing the front clip and side cover and the front airbox lid you dont need to remove the whole box

You had to replace the spark plug leads too?
@spyderstuff83988 жыл бұрын
Scott9084 - no. Didn't "need" to change the leads, but because the plugs are such a pain to get to, I changed the leads while I had it apart. With iridium plugs in, Won't need to be touched again for 100,000km
