I have four graduate degrees and the most important element to going to any graduate school is knowing you have a supporter or mentor at the school. The first two times I was totally on my own and the experiences in both those places were often very unenjoyable. Be sure that when you pick your grad school know someone there believes in you and will encourage and help steer you when you need it. They should also be someone who cares if you get a job when you get out with their education in hand, too.

All I see is the scene from the movie Pretty Woman when she goes into the the fancy store and says “you work on commission right?” And then shows them the bags and says “big mistake!” That’s how I feel about Notre Dame letting you get away - they are gonna wish they took this last month more seriously when you were deciding - - WashU, congrats! FYI, after watching your video I noticed that when you paid your deposit you selected an automatic withdrawal. Meaning that if you fall behind in payments they can withdraw whatever amount is due in one fail swoop. It’s better to change that setting in online banking to Manual. That way you select what amount you send and when. So your account won’t go into overdraft. Not saying it will just looking out. Sound advice I learned from Suzi Orman financial guru.
@LifeAsALawStudent4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jonathan, personally I'm a fan of not having to keep track of when everything is due and paid with automatic payments, but it also helps to have the privilege of a full ride where no payments are ever deducted from my account.

Hey, this is amazing! I'm from StL, I grew up by the Delmar Divide near WashU! I have a question: did you apply for a specific scholarship for your fullride, or was it offered along with your acceptance?

Some schools do have scholarships you officially apply for, but at WashU the Fellowship was part of my acceptance package. Thanks for your question!

Great Job! Did you apply to these schools during early admission bc I know some school will not want you to apply to other schools if you apply with them?
@LifeAsALawStudent5 жыл бұрын
So what I think you're referring to is early decision. Once you apply to a school for early decision, you CANNOT apply to any other schools unless you are rejected, waitlisted, or deferred to the regular admission cycle. I didn't have any place that I for sure wanted to go to regardless of financial aid offers, so I didn't apply for early decision anywhere.

Just curious, did you get rejected from any law schools that you applied to? I'm planning on applying next year for law schools and am terrified of getting rejected.
@LifeAsALawStudent5 жыл бұрын
Hey Erika! First off, don't be terrified! You lose absolutely nothing with a no. Make sure that you apply to schools in three categories: 1) safety, 2) satisfying, and 3) reach. If you play your cards right with where you apply, there's little to no chance you'll get rejected at the first two categories. And who knows how many of the third will be happy to have you?! WashU was a bit of a reach school for me, but I ended up committing with a full ride :) I was waitlisted at UPenn and University of North Carolina. I expected the first and honestly still don't understand the second haha.

Univ of North Carolina Chapel Hill has to accept a pretty high percentage of in-state law students, so I wouldn't take that personally at all!

Hi! You mentioned that some schools provide travel assistance for visits. Can you please elaborate on how to go about getting the school to fund your visit?
@LifeAsALawStudent4 жыл бұрын
Hi Emil! WashU offered without me even asking, which was super nice. It led me to inquire if other schools would extend the same offer. It definitely depends on the school, as some just don't budget for travel funding, but many told me they would provide a limited stipend for travelling to their Admitted Students Days that could be sent to you in a check or be deposited into your Student Account (and applied toward admission fees) if you ended up attending their institution. My best advice is simply to ask what the school can offer in order for you to visit. Being able to say you have applied, it's one of your top choices, you're an excellent candidate, etc. all can help persuade offices with the budget to allocate you some money for the visit. Hope this helps!

Hi there, Would you be able to advice me with regards to what are my legal options to take down a scammer from Wisconsin ?
@Vibez-o5k3 жыл бұрын
You should never turn down a T14. T14s have resources and job statistics that the rest of law schools lack. And why are you applying to schools you never heard of, but also T14s? This is literally the worst application/ selection video I’ve ever seen in my life. You decide law schools based on how much paper and stickers (?!?) they sent you, but then a T14 sends you “too much paper” and you just don’t want to read that much. Some news for you: law school is all about reading things. Just delete this. It makes you look stupid and uninformed about incredibly standard application norms.
