OMG I spent over 200 dollars on cage covers. NEVER thought of pillow cases! ! Now I'm looking thru ours ! Ty

You're welcome! We went through quite a few different cage covers as well (all fleece). We used a cotton one once, and realized are boys seem to much prefer non-fuzzy fabrics than the fuzzy ones like fleece lol.

a BIG question I have is, what do you use to wash the ferrets hammocks, blankets, ect? Is any laundry soap fine or would it have to be unscented for the ferrets? I would really appreciate if you could answer
@PawsToJourney2 жыл бұрын
I have read that unscented, mild detergents can be better for them. We still just use regular tide pods. We have never had any issues, so we continue to use it. I do not use any type of fabric softeners.

Do you remember what size or measurements that container is that you use for the litterbox?
@PawsToJourney3 жыл бұрын
Hello! The length was just under 24 inches, so it fit perfectly in the Ferret Nation. I think the width was 16 inches (half the length of a Ferret Nation cage) and 6 inches high. I believe this is the one we purchased: www.walmart.com/ip/STERILITE-14968006-Clear-White-Storage-Tote-23-3-4-in-x-16-in-x-6-7-8-in-H-1-PK/163258452?athcpid=163258452&athpgid=AthenaItempage&athcgid=null&athznid=siext&athieid=v0&athstid=CS055&athguid=DrUKbBUuPMf2OhNKor0dlClT4QOaUOQpuRNc&athancid=null&athposb=0&athena=true

What is the pellet litter you use? Plain wood pellets or pine?? I thought pine pellets are not good for ferrets because of the essential oils

What can I wash my ferrets bedding with?
@PawsToJourney2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I just use the same Tide I use for our clothes. I know there are a lot of people that use detergent that's more for sensitive skin. However, we haven't had any issues with the Tide.

Is the cage a 1 unit or 2 unit
@PawsToJourney2 жыл бұрын
So this cage in this video is a single (1) unit. Our boys free roam most of the time, and are just in there if we leave or are sleeping. I work from home so they can free roam a lot. If you look way back at older videos, we actually had a 4 unit, but both me and my husband were working 10+ hour shifts then, and would be gone for a large part of the day. Since they had a lot less free roam time then, we wanted them to have a larger cage to play in. :)

This helps a lot but my question is,is it okay to keep toys in their cage because I've been told by this respectable ferret KZbinr to not keep toys in their cage
@PawsToJourney3 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a controversial subject. There are always risks associated with everything, so it's always best to minimize risks as much as possible. One of our veterinarians told us they treated many ferrets with blockages just caused by them chewing the liners from their cages. Of course you wouldn't want to leave them on hard plastic or wire, so liners are important. It's definitely good to KNOW your own ferrets. So far, we have had no ferrets who chew on anything. I am always looking at any cloth they have access to, and all their toys every day. If I ever did see a sign of them chewing something, I would have to reevaluate how we have things for them. So, I do keep toys in their cage, but I don't use any rubber toys. Rubber (even the indestructible type meant for big dogs) can easily be chewed apart. I try to stick with plastic or cloth toys. Again, if your ferrets tend to chew on things like cloth toys, I wouldn't recommend it.
@cathyjerome16623 жыл бұрын
I choose NOT to keep toys in their cage but my Odee boy sneaks his toys in EVERY once in awhile but I never worry about HIS 3 favorites cuz he WON'T allow any of the other 4 touch THEM LMAO. Not even his REAL brother . But any others I keep in a toy box I set down in morning with their dig box . They LOVE that too and Odee CAN'T stash that .
@zeomanka35223 жыл бұрын
@@cathyjerome1662 yeah I don't let mine keep any of their toys in their cage though I really have to worry about it as they love to stash their toys and they end up forgetting about them the only thing that they go for 100 percent of the time is my shoes they love playing with my shoes

Definitely a personal preference. I make sure to wash my hands both before and after I’m done with cages, and don’t touch a million things in-between. Gloves are definitely a great option for some!
