Pro tip from my granny: for a (seriously) burnt stainless steel pot or frying pan, just pour in a heaped tablespoon of baking/cleaning soda and add hot water (enough fully to cover the burnt part). Put to a boil, let it boil for about 10 minutes, and let it sit overnight. In the morning you can wipe it all away with a sponge or dish rag - no scrubbing. Works like a charm 😎

That’s a really good tip from your grandmother, I’ve used that method for about 50+ years, but I don’t remember exactly where I learned of it, but I know it works. The downside is that if you are cleaning a shallow pan like a skillet, it will tend to make your stove top a bit messy.

I'm a department manager for Williams Sonoma. Been cleaning All-Clad cookware like this for years. If it's an 18-10 surgical grade stainless steel, keep the heat at medium or lower. Any build-up will remove easily with hot soapy water, or if needed, a little barkeepers friend. Top quality cookware makes a big difference.

Have had the same set of Wolfgang stainless pans for more then 2 decades and they are still great. I usually just deglaze them when I’m done to remove any extra stuck on garbage. Typically it’s not a lot because ripping hot oil doesn’t leave much to stick. I hate non stick pans they get destroyed and the evenness and quality is meh at best I use cast iron and stainless only. Cast iron is king imo mine are so well seasoned they are slicker then the best nonstick pans on the market and I can use a specific metal spatula from my childhood in them and it makes me happy being reminded of cooking with my mom.
