How I completed Horizon Forbidden West in Under 3 minutes!

I want to give a big shoutout to Oruga who came up with the initial strategy and Idea for this speedrun. I would link to his KZbin or other socials but he does not have those :) Infinite Jumps and the Far Zenith Skip has been patched with patch 1.21 on PS5. This was the patch that came a long with the Burning Shores DLC. The patch was exclusive to PS5 so this does still work on PS4, but will be slower due to load times. I personally dont care much for this run being patched tbh. Since it was more of a fun run to showcase rather than something that would be fun to do in the long run like the regular full game speedruns. I am just happy I got to show it here and save the history of it before it got patched. Another Update: A new method to do the Far Zenith Skip has been found. The setup is slower but still works the same.

I have enjoyed IJG so much! I figured out that you can infinite jump glitch up the walls in the final boss fight with Tilda and then stand on the orange awnings overlooking the fight. You can still hit the boss with your blast sling. I've had a lot of fun breaking encounters by confusing the scripts on the boss or machine with IJG.

I think it counts as a legitimate speedrun. For the game Ocarina of Time, you can beat the game in something like 10 minutes after you load up in the territorial area by jumping around and doing a series of small glitches that then triggers the end credits. And don't even get me started on the crazy Elden ring glitches were you can also beat that game in about two-and-a-half minutes. From everything I've seen about speedrunning, it counts so long as you start the game from the main menu as intended and then trigger the end credits as quickly as possible. RC speed runs from the watch? I don't think so. But should it count as a legit speedrun? Yes. Especially with all the setup required to do it.

No has to be a normal playthrough, since the checkpoint storage loads in your old checkpoint and not a new NG+ playthrough.

No the game locks you to Ultra Hard, so need to start a new NG+ to change difficulty. The checkpoint storage also locks your difficulty so has to be a normal playthrough sadly.

Yes, the Infinite Jump glitch was never patched on PS4. Just keep in mind they work different when you play in 30 FPS.

It's an interesting exploit and definitely clever: the exact type of exploit that speedruns have always searched out and used once found. I can definitely see a use for this for anyone who wants a quick and easy NG+ UH clear for trophies but as a "legitimate" speedrun, for me, this doesn't really count. Still, kudos on figuring this out and showing it to the rest of the community, well done.

That's ghost levels. When you finish the game and start NG+ (provided you're level 50 already) every 100k exp you level up 1 ghost level. Note that it doesn't provide any additional health or strength.

Hold out for the PC port!!! I'm really hoping they start doing PC/Playstation releases at the same time for future titles in the franchise. I think they would make a lot more money for Guerilla Games, though they would have extra production costs for cross platform support. Elden Ring was on Playstation, Xbox, and PC from day 1.
