Korie Robertson speaks with Demi-Leigh Tebow at the LO Sister Conference about keeping your relationships from becoming idols and getting to know your love language. Demi talks about being carjacked at gunpoint, how she broke free from the trauma of that harrowing experience, and how one girl's help that day inspired her fight against human trafficking. She also explains how Miss Universe created a platform for a greater purpose and the hard work that took place behind the scenes.

The Scriptures contain many stories of people who waited years or even decades before the Lord's promises came to pass. What modern believers can learn from the patience of biblical saints like Abraham, Joseph, David, and Paul is that waiting upon the Lord has eternal rewards.

This is so good! "Be the girl that reaches out" In this world where people are always only looking out for themselves, it's so amazing how doing something so 'small' and simple such as reaching out and caring for others can make so much difference! Also "doing small things with great love" you DON"T NEED to do something BIG for God to move, just be faithful in the little things, GOD WILL MAKE BIG MOVES through you! ❤❤

I've done exactly that, "make that something an idol". I have been pursuing contentment in singleness! I'm so excited to be the person who is fully dependent on God to provide the love and affirmation I desire. I have been seeing the idea of never being married all around me lately. I'm in a situation where I almost want to be! I want to be fully used by God and if I have to be single to do that, I want that. I want to be liberated by the idols I've made men into.

totally relatable! I have also come to a point where I genuinely am content with being single. I do have the desire to be a/have a significant other, however, I know that God is clearly saying it's not the right time yet. & I am also comfortable with the possibility that I may not get married or have kids. God is all I need forever and always. He definitely helped me get to this point of contentment because He's God of course.

This was everything! 😭 I am a ‘new Christian’ and have been on a crazy journey (like really crazy, full of trauma and all that sad stuff) and since I found God my life has changed so much. And over the last year, I have had this desire to share my story because 4 years ago, I thought i was done (yep that bad), but I found hope in God, and my life is full of light now. And I want to encourage other women that even if they feel like they can’t be happy, THEY CAN. I want my story to encourage others. But I doubt myself all the time. I’m not good enough, I don’t have enough followers, my life is boring, I’m not pretty enough. But I missed the fact that, I can help just ONE PERSON. Even one, and that’s everything to that one person. So this inspired me to share my first vlog, so thank you. THANK YOU. 🥲💛

Hi Sadie and Korie, I was wondering what your opinion was on 1 Timothy 2:12 "I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet." I do not understand this verse very well, I want to be biblical but this verse is really confusing I have heard lots of men talk about it but I would love to hear it from a women's perspective. God bless you!!!
@Csck03
@Csck03 2 жыл бұрын
I think the Bible should also be taken in the context it was written. Paul as he says (1cor 9.20)" To the Jews I became a Jew, to those under the law I became like them to win them." He wrote the letters in accordance with the society of the time. But there are also verses where it talks about women prophesying meaning there were women with gifts that allowed them to be in the limelight and not in the background. Ultimately pray a lot for the Holy Spirit to guide you when you don't understand something in the Bible. Hope this helps🙂
@Knighty-hr2dw
@Knighty-hr2dw 2 жыл бұрын
@@Csck03 Thank you that did help a lot. I never really thought about the context before, and yes I defiantly have and will be praying that God will give be the right way to think about this, because I don't know what opinion to have and I want my opinion to be biblical. (: Thank you so much God bless you!!!
@TonyaA7
@TonyaA7 2 жыл бұрын
In that verse Paul gave such instruction because many of the women were unlearned and were interrupting the services /so to stop it Paul told them to ask their husband at home ... Many men though twist that verse to say women can't teach etc. Yet in other verses of scripture Paul shows other women helping him spread the gospel , teaching, prophesying etc...
@Knighty-hr2dw
@Knighty-hr2dw 2 жыл бұрын
@@TonyaA7 That makes sense, it would be a logical thing to ask people who didn't know what they where talking about to be quiet. However Paul gives another reason in 1 Timothy 2:12 "I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor." But then in Deuteronomy 24:16 it says one person can not be punished for another persons sins "Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin." This is all very confusing to me and I appreciate your opinions. God bless!!

Also try to remember that the bible was written thousands of years ago and modern values, human rights etc was not a norm then. They had different values. Interpretations of verses will change from person to person.
