The Quran in Sura 2:230 says: And if the husband divorces his wife (for the third time), she shall not remain his lawful wife after this (absolute) divorce, unless she marries another husband and the second husband divorces her. [In that case] there is no harm if they [the first couple] remarry . . . 5. Slave-girls are sêxüãl property for their male owners. The Quran in Sura 4:24 says: And forbidden to you are wedded wives of other people except those who have fallen in your hands [as prisoners of war] . . . 4. A man may be polygamous with up to four wives. The Quran in Sura 4:3 says: And if you be apprehensive that you will not be able to do justice to the orphans, you may marry two or three or four women whom you choose. But if you apprehend that you might not be able to do justice to them, then marry only one wife, or marry those who have fallen in your possession. 3. A husband may simply get rid of one of his undesirable wives. The Quran in Sura 4:129 says: It is not within your power to be perfectly equitable in your treatment with all your wives, even if you wish to be so; therefore, [in order to satisfy the dictates of Divine Law] do not lean towards one wife so as to leave the other in a state of suspense. . After some time, she divorced him and married Kinanah ibn Abi al-Huqayq, the commander of Haybar's most famous fortress, the Fortress of Shammus. During the Muslim conquest of the Fortress of Shammus, Kinanah ibn Abi al-Huqayq was killed. Safiyah lost her father, second husband, and brother in this battle. She herself was among the captives of the war.

In Arabia, the share of the spoils that was allocated to leaders or rulers was called "Safiyyah." Zaynab was given this name because she was captured during the Battle of Khaybar and fell into the share of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. Her father, Huyayy ibn Akhtab, had been exiled from Medina for negotiating with pagans against Muhammad. From there, he went with part of his tribe to the Khaybar region to incite the Qurayza tribe against the Muslims and took refuge in their fortresses. Huyayy ibn Akhtab met the same fate as they did and was killed there during the Battle of the Trench (Ahzab).

At the end of the battle, the spoils of war were divided, and Safiyyah fell into the share of Muhammad. After signing an agreement with the Jews, Muhammad asked Safiyyah her views on Islam and Judaism. She replied, "O Messenger of Allah! I had desired Islam and had affirmed your truthfulness even before you invited me. My father also admitted the truth of your cause, but tribalism led him astray. I firmly believe that there is no god but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah." Upon hearing this, Muhammad freed Safiyyah and, at her request, married her.

Through this marriage, Muhammad became related to a significant portion of the Jewish community, giving them the opportunity to become more familiar with Islam. Additionally, it became easier for him to gather information about his enemies, allowing him to learn of their intentions in advance. Safiyyah bint Huyay ibn Akhtab passed away in Medina at the age of 60 and was buried in the Jannat al-Baqi Cemetery.(İbn Sa’d, age., VIII, 120.^ İbn Hişam, age., III, 350; İbn Sa’d, age., VIII, 120.^ İbn Sa’d, age., VIII, 121.)
