Seems like rejecting the mainstream just to be contrarian is misguided. But it is also wrong to reject unpopular opinions because you automatically assume they're wrong and stupid, believing you and the mainstream know better. If it's important enough, you can't take shortcuts, you'll need to evaluate the pros and cons of both sides, because there are always trade-offs.

Exeptional and lovely. Wild how our traumas effect us. How they can be our greatest potential and greatest weakness at the same time. Thats why I feel at times resentful for working on them. They make me to who I am, they give me drive, force me to focus. But healing is not about getting rid of the trauma. Instead it's about being flexible, making use of it, not being imprisoned and chased by it. Seeing you guys go through that struggle and being so open, makes me feel compassionate about you, about humanity and for myself. I could relate to both of your storrys. I feel resentful about feeling like a victim and I feel the need of being the best version of myself that I could possibley be, to be lovable. That can be a hardship. But I'm also greatful for it.

I really don’t understand the negativity in these comments, if these guys say it was a worthwhile experience and it genuinely changed their mental health, who cares if they paid a bunch of money? Who cares if they could of meditated instead or gone to therapy. I feel so sad you people have such a deep urge to seem “right” or “smarter” that you are shaming them for a awesome experience that they had. Goddam when I get the sort of money that will allow me to do these things, even if it only improves my well being by 1% it would be worth it. Instead of shaming them, celebrate the fact they were humble enough to actually share these very personal moments with us. And try and figure out why ur so bitter, maybe you too have to forgive someone. Cheers

One of the many profound things I've learned is starting from within. How do you love others if you don't love yourself? When there's a consistent frustration at others for a certain quality they hold, maybe it resonates with yourself and you don't like it. Looking inwards is tremendously helpful and comparison is a major cause of unhappiness and not feeling enough in Leon's case. On a side note, I very much recommend the book "The Code of the Extraordinary Mind". It fits pretty well with the theme of this video

The more I watch every video Leon offers, there's a discovery of a new fascination in myself . His ability to be naked in a society/social space where everyone has many facades, showcase what he feels and experiments on himself is a cruel journey to senses of satisfaction. It can be sometimes be hard to watch because there is truth in the videos but really is (what I feel) necessary for everyone to grow from a naive point to a more wisdom state of mind.

What I got from this is focus is not just a practice away from distraction but a state in which you are content with yourself and alp the trauma built up to that moment. That trauma and your resistance to those feelings is in themselves distractions as they restrain you from what you want to do. And it’s hard to pin point as it can be hard to face then and hard to realize when you’re so used to it.

I'm very interested in the methodology of measuring the iq before and after. Were the tests different, if so - in what way and were you queried about the familiarity of the tests that you've encountered? The mensa tag got me worried, because there is only so much variety in one single pattern of test before you get to develop a system of solving it generically. No matter the complexity of a pattern, given enough tries - and that's what mensa is encouraging! - you get to "get good" at the iq tests they provide. They make you chase the metric, not the variable that metric measures i.e. they care more about the IQ score than actual speed and accuracy of your thought.

You can do this for free! I'm quite sure this entire experience was modelled after the ancient meditation 'Vipassana'. Those long hours of meditation and going deeper as much as you can. It's a 10 days retreat, and they are offered free of cost, including food and accommodation. It runs by donations from who got benefitted. The centers are in many countries. Worth checking once in a lifetime. You can thank me later.

You can certainly do it at home and get the same benefits. 1. Make a list of people/things you need to forgive 2. Sit down, get calm and pick the first "charge", give it a name 3. Feel the pain of that experience, just sit with your feelings 4. Decide to forgive (or not, if you're not ready) 5. Walk in their shoes and understand it from their perspective 6. Find a lesson or a gift that came from it, no matter how bad it was Repeat that process for anything that needs forgiveness and you'll feel like a different person. So much baggage will come off. I wish more people would see that the point of this video was not to spend $20k to fix yourself, but instead that everyone can get those benefits for free just by doing forgiveness. Hope this helps :)

If this programme genuinely produces lasting benefits then we need to build a programme to get these benefits for less than $20k. Here's what I saw: (1) feedback on stress and alpha waves - this alone is known to be beneficial (2) uncover what causes distress to the customer (3) customer gets feedback while being exposed to their distress trigger, maximising the feedback training value. Learning to forgive and to have gratitude is beneficial as well. Did I miss anything?
