If you turn the 5 gallon bucket of oil so the spigot is on the high side of the bucket as you pour it, it won't "glug" it will pour out smoothly in a constant stream. It will make it easier to pour with out it making a mess. Works with everything one might pour paint, hydraulic fluid, oil, transmission fluid, ect. Keep up the great work.

Little tip for doing electrical work, consider picking yourself up a set of Solderstck crimp connectors, if haven’t already heard of them they are essentially crimp connectors with built in low temp solder and shrink wrap all in one so the make awesome weather tight connections. They’re kinda life changing if you do much electrical work like that. Heck you may be able to score a partnership with the as the do help out a lot of automotive KZbinrs. 😬

I give you this little info, if you know this sorry to be waiting your time, usually you should not start and stop refrigerating equipment without letting the compressor rest for at least 15 minutes. This allows the compressor to equalize the internal pressure, so when you start the compressor it is starting with zero pressure. Hope that makes sense.

Don't let anyone tell you different about the old CAT motors you are using. 3208's will run forever if you take care of them. We use them in the oilfield. Also, without all of the ridiculous computer crap they have on the new engines, they are easy to work on. The reason mechanics don't want to work on them is because they cant charge the higher prices.

Their only flaws are in the front of each head they have some plastic clamps that give way and you spill your antifreeze and if your not paying attention overheat ur engine and these clamps are hard to get to . My advice a good oil and temp alarm with a loud buzzer. I don’t think he has one

Hey Luke! Great to see you at it again. Two things I hope will help you are 1) Use your dielectric grease on all exposed copper (like that ground wire that was all oxidized and cooking the contact) and 2) Invest in some "solder seal wire connectors" from companies like TICONN or Kuject for any splicing or connector replacement (VERY handy). You might consider buying some gun oil or just a lightweight oil and wipe down all your tools to slow down the rusting. You could also blacken them, but that would take more time (better, more durable coating though!)

Pro Tip. Smack a hole in the bottom of the filters with a lady finger or Phillips screwdriver. Direct the oil with a funnel that has a bendy neck. After the oil drains out. Use a grease gun. Put a pump of grease in the hole you made to stop it from leaking. No mess to clean up.

One law of thermodynamics, as metal gets hot, it expands. So your oil filter threads have expanded and are now constricted against the engine block threads. Try loosening when cold by a 1/8 turn. Then run engine to get hot.

One suggestion I would have for you- use Never Seize on all of your bolts. I believe they make a salt water formula, I had some many years ago and It was green. The guy that gave me that stuff said they used to use it on underwater connections at the Philadelphia ship yard back in the day. Since I ran out of that stuff I have been using the Copper and Nickle formulas, never have a problem taking stuff apart, it's messy if you get it on you but well worth using, saves a lot of time getting stuff apart. I recently discovered that Harbor Freight carries it. Keep up the good work. Just think you only have about another thirty plus years of fun to look forward to.

luke, good move doing ur own work, helps with the bottom line....a couple of suggestions, buy a can of pure teflon grease and use that to pre lube the oil filter gasket and threads on the filter...you will notice a difference the next time u r enjoying urself changing the oil.....also if you turn the 5 gall spout the opposite, even though it sounds odd, you won't have the issue with spills. as a former mechanic this truly will work.......keep up the good work. hope ur pots are loaded with some nice whales....

doing good man, even filled the filters and oiled the seals! on the rudder, that thin fibreglass will keep doing that, would plan on getting a glass guy to reinforce it properly sometime in the future ( and i'd want to seriously inspect the rudder log for fatigue from all the years of flexing) and as others pointed out, turning the 5gal bucket around will let the bucket vent, and reduce the glugging, and you can pick up a strap wrench for that rachet, and get some serious leverage on the filters.... keep it up! quickly becoming a favorite channel man, doing good

Mechanics tip - Find an old leather belt. Get a length of steel pipe of about 18". wrap the filter with the bet and put the pip through the belt between the filter and the belt, then twist the pipe until the belt is tight around the filter and start turning the filter. If it slips twist the pipe more until tighter and repeat until the filter comes loose. I promise its easier than the crappy filter wrench.

U guys kno Y i subscribed and personally praise young luke here, hes a young man already out trying to build his own little empire to provide for himself and his other half. The thing with this new generation of young men is most are not out hustling n bustling to earn that precious dollar. Half of this generation all day are sitting at home playing games or at the pc worrying abt social media than getting a real job to build up that nest egg. The other quarter is either out in the streets every night breaking into ppls houses and stealing cars or destroying other ppls property. Then the remaining quarter is either just too dammmn good to work for someone or they complain about not being paid enuff for there time or are requesting to work less but are expecting to be paid more. Tell ya wat though.. there is nothing harder than being a young entrepreneur. The start is always the most difficult.. getting that rapport and customer base takes time. There is so much choice for ppl to choose from so u have to give customers a good reason why they should part with their money on you. If u have sons n daughters thats young n already know how to fend for themselves and earn there living, your the lucky few.

Hey just a tip for next time, pick up a pair of rubber dish gloves to use when dealing with the hot oil. Will keep your hands both clean and cool!! Also next time you go to do a maintenance day write down what you want to do then what those tasks will require. You said people would say do it right the first time and your response was you didn't have time. But you made a trip to the hardware store for supplies and you had planned to fix the rudder support since you already had the braces. It's not that you don't have time it's just that you are being pulled in a million different directions. Maybe just try writing down things with a little more detail a couple times and see if it helps. What's the worst that that will happen, you give it up and go back to flying by the seat if your pants. Love the videos and absolutely respect your hustle and refusel to ever give up.

I hope this isn't so, but your compressor might dying on your fridge. Perhaps the reason your wiring is getting fried and maybe it was the thermo protector on your compressor kicking it off and later back on. Need to check how many amps it's drawing. Love your videos! Good luck!
