Joe, this is a great video! I will be using the Peco insulfrog turnouts as well on my new layout. I have always liked those dwarf switches and now that you've shown how it's done I may try to incorporate some into the layout. Thanks again and great how to video!!!
@pacbeltrr387 жыл бұрын
That's amazingly easy!!! I've got several manually thrown, Peco Insulfrog turnouts, that I was sure was never going to get target signals. Thanks!! BTW, your daughter is such a cutie - and a HAM! She really loves the camera, and her Daddy!! It's Carmine. I'm sorta back, new channel, starting over from nothing.... Not out of the woods yet. Not dead yet either! You've made a LOT of progress! I'll have to catch up. Carmine 🚂

COOL! When we're back on our feet again (been almost a YEAR now!) 😩, I'm definitely doing that. I can't believe it was that simple - and uses the DCC buss!!!

i did something similar. i used magnet wire at 28awg. its thin enough to be hidden into the signal. also i joined the negative from each led to 1 resistor. then the positive leads went onto the spdt switch in a tortoise. since only 1 light is on at any time the resistor it only working 1 negative lead at a time, eliminating 1 wire/lead. also i have my leds powered by a single 12v DC wall wort. not using ac power from track.

Joe, just subscribed to your channel and this is a very good instructional video. I've been pondering the question to "signal or not to signal" in some areas. This is a good inexpensive way to accomplish that. Thanks for the video and will be watching for more in the future.

Been trying to figure this out for some time now...And now you have given me the complete info on it.. Just wish others would show how things are done like this...I`ve got 8 manual throw switches on my small layout on some double crossovers And now you`ve shown the perfect video for it... One question tho will it also work with the feeder wires???

Thank you for the great video! I'll be re-watching this when I start building my layout. Hoping that I can make it work just as easy as you made it look. :) Actually making an EZ-track DCC layout, hoping to make it all still work with additions like this.

Just a thought, would it be possible to solder the wires for the leds to the rail joiners instead of cutting away from the track to get to the rails?

+Super Afr0 it might work. the only way to find out is try it. let me know if it works

so you use the AC from DCC to power the led's?
@duanewise14997 жыл бұрын
The LED's are not as bright when using DCC since they are only carrying current during one half of the AC cycle.
