Worst case scenario you make $4 profit on each cover sold. $250 or so worth of product per hour / 14 Hours worth of printing for the machine to pay for itself after that you could make over $6k worth of covers per day minimum which sounds great til you realize you only sell a few per day on all available platforms.

Even if this was true, it's still a cool printer for makers. It's way too pricey for me, but if I could afford it, I'd buy one and I don't even sell products. I'm thinking about selling 3D printed stuff but still have a ways to go. 3D printers still maker people money and you see videos on those all the time.

There is definitely some "youtuber math" going on here. You don't earn any money at all by printing those. You earn the money when the items sell. Seems like the title and a lot of what you say in the video is just designed for clicks, and to get people to buy the printer. Using words like "potentially" would make this a bit more accurate. You could "potentially" earn "X" amount if you can sell all of these. Also, you don't make $10 each unit, in terms of profit. There are so many costs associated that you don't mention. Not the least of which is all the fees that go with selling on Amazon. There is also all the labor that goes into research, design creation, etc. I'm guessing that after all actual costs involved, you are probably making half or less than half of that. Nothing wrong with that, just click bait to say what you said in the title. At one point I think you even said you could make up to $1000 per hour. The implication is that you can make as much money as you want, just keep printing more items. But again, you don't get any money if it doesn't sell. I think you are falsely getting a lot of people's hopes up.

In a related "product", I work in a commercial electrical company and we use a UV laser to mark cover plates (switches, receptacles, blanks, etc) with circuit numbers or other information as needed. It's the same "indestructible" type covers. I have a template board for alignment in the printer and I just cover most of the plate with painter's tape, use coreldraw to fire up the laser and raster in text or diagrams to burn through the tape and into the plate before finally filling in the mark with plastic-bonding spray paint with the remaining tape as a mask. It takes a little time with all the individual steps but makes a sharp looking piece. For stainless steel we skip the tape and spray on a metal marking compound which looks somewhat like an ugly gray/yellow spray paint but makes an indelible black mark into the metal when lasered, so it remains no matter what cleaners or handling happens. This has been a big saving/profit center for the company since we brought this kind of signmaking, label making, everything-marking services in-house for ourselves and for customers.

It’s another clickbait video trying to sell his dropshipped printers for $500-$1k markup over the factory (who also sells them on alibaba) $2980 if you search the model number. Less if you buy in bulk like this guy is probably doing. With bulk shipping pricing, this guy is probably trying to net a $1k profit on each printer he sells, which explains the clickbait. I’m also unconvinced this tech is mature enough to go the budget Chinese route. If a $300 3d printer goes poof, it’s a tough lesson for most people. If your $3000 printer goes poof, and you bought it as a business investment, that’s a significant setback. All in all, cool tech, but I’d either invest the significant extra dough in a reputable brand, or at least verify the quality of this machine from someone who isn’t obviously shilling for it.

Guys if you want to make $720 an hour, the trick is to not calculate the time it took to create the designs, set up the design on the computer, cut the plywood board, drill the plywood board holes, buy the material, cost of the ink, time to create the listings on Amazon, time to respond to Amazon customers, time to pack and ship the $8.99 item. Cost of box, packing materials and shipping, time to take items to the Post office. Also, don't include the initial cost of the computer, software and printer which also have a finite lifespan.

Sounds to me like you know how to sell. Nice comment. I'm going through all this crap right now (I've sold before on ebay as a small time garage sale type of store, doing the professional level stuff now). I love the design process, the prototyping but all this garbage setting up a store, building the site, budgeting, sourcing materials, and on and on and on is an absolute pain in the xxx. I cannot wait until I can hire someone to handle all this. Gotta get a laser baby-sitter first though.... One thing at a freaking time though! That's the only way it doesn't become overwhelming as one Person. I'm getting it done though and after budgeting I should have a fair profit-margin, assuming my stuff sells- I'll find out soon. My many Years of Game Design and Graphic Art work is helping a lot (don't do that stuff anymore, but the skills carry over).

Or doest the object have to be perfectly flat? Even vehicle trim peices like around the radio or the gauges, or interior door handles, stuff like that for custom car builds. Anything that can be removed and is plastic. The possibilities are endless if it doesn't have to be perfectly flat. But light switch covers??? Nahhh😏😒

If you'd like a bit of advice, the slots in the screws should be straight up and down. I would have used a piece of high density Styrofoam for the bedding jig. Just push the screws into the substrate, no drilling. But then he went on about the milwaukee drills being the best. They're not bad.. and I was a milwaukee man once upon a time.. but I've got a few dozen varied drills, half a dozen mini recip saws, 4 full size recip saws, several lights, and a boat load of batteries that are dead within an 8 year span with no repair support because they're out of warranty. And have to replace milwaukee batteries regularly. On the flip side, I've got my father's Dewalt battery drills, recip saws, lights, etc that are 20+ years old and still work. I've replaced switches, control circuits, motors, gear boxes and more on my milwaukee equipment myself. I've even replaced dead cells in the batteries myself. I've only had to replace a few of the batteries for my dewalt stuff. The corded tools are much more reliable but I've still had to replace plenty of parts on my milwaukee corded verses practically no repair needed for my dewalt corded stuff. Take it how you will, but my "side by side" experience has proven dewalt to be more reliable. I like them both but I purchase dewalt now. And.. milwaukee discontinued one of its most popular and useful tools.. the "hatchet" reciprocating saw with the folding handle. Bad call, milwaukee.

For all the people whining in the comments (who apparently took nothing away from the video other than the accuracy of the title), here's the SECRET to actually making money: Have a skill noone has, or be better than everyone else. Good luck with that! (And if you EVER expect to find a "money making scheme" online that actually works, good luck with THAT too 😅) ANYTHING that EVERYONE can do, has already been done. None of these are learn and repeat models, but if you actually deserve to be an employer rather than an employee, you'll spend the time developing a skill, and have the innovation to take these lessons and apply them in an original manner. If you can't do that, you're simply not good enough. Enjoy slave labor.
