I think the written title of this video is confusing some people. Yes, you don't need chimera. But at the end of the day this is a farming strategy for overall profits and alot of the profits come from dropping an average of 6.7 guardian maps per map you run. Also these Shaper maps funnel you directly to the boss and are super fast at running. They just so happen to drop quite a few T17 per hour, since you get them almost every map, and you run maps so fast with this strat.

I did test out a more expensive strat that involved using eldritch altars with map dupes as you are saying, and yes that is a valid alternative strat. I love the mind-off fast paced nature of running through guardian maps with destructive play but altars is also completely valid! I almost included one of those setups as a 3rd option but I wanted to keep this video focused specifically on guardian farming!

I had 24 conq/shaper/elder map to start with and I went for the 4c strat, it was enough to self sustain for the {40}GGG Challenge for this 100/100

10:50 - unidentified corrupted does not guarantee 8-mod map. if your map is droped from chest or vial (vaal temple) it can also be corrupted and unidentified. you can drop corrupted items from expedition monsters (not sure if also unid) have been farming those 80mod maps for a short time thats why its niche market.

Have you tried adding Ritual? It also adds a couple packs, you don't even need to start it For Maven Invitations you also want to vaal them because it can make the thing 8-mod Also, isn't pack size just increasing size of the packs, not the amount of packs in the map?

deli doesnt add packs of mobs, which is what you want for this. it would probably just slow you down

@@James-kq6tg well another example would be beyond, which DOES add monsters to the map, but it doesnt add them in 'packs'. a pack is a cluster of monsters. deli adds monsters but they are not packs of monsters so they don't work with the scarab we are using here.

Have you considered running B2B tree setup for the strat? All scarabs and interactions would still work, you'd just be changing Destructive play related nodes for more explicit effect and scarabs. You're also not doing any league mechanics already and full clearing, I think it might work.

oh also, i was reading the excel data wrong for that as well. if you look at the numbers i dropped 41 shaper maps from 26 maps, which makes sense since our oversustain is 6.7 maps and there are only 4 different subtypes of maps

You have "elder influenced pack size" small nodes on atlas however you're mostly running shaper guardians and I see that you dont take eternal torment notable why is that?

mistake on the poeplanner i have corrected. i was using shaper side in the testing. To be fair, the shaper specific packs do not matter for this strat, so you could take either side.

But if running the main strat you don't drop 8 mods. Would you buy 8 mod via tft / self roll the 8 mods / just not bother to run the 8 mod if not using the second strat? I hope that makes sense, I don't think this was mentioned in the video but I could have missed it. I went back again but couldn't see it mentioned.

I just ran maps unid with whatever rolls they had, so i probably ran some pretty bad maps while recording the data for this strat. But if you want to fully optimize it would be best with 8 mod maps. Up to you how you go about doing that. If you think it takes too long to trade for them (I would agree with you here) maybe the compromise is to NOT run 8 mod maps as it slows us down too much acquiring them.

what is the breakpoint in map juicing where the pandemonium scarab gives out on average more bosses than the terror one? if use a divination scarab u get 7 shrines total, so its 7 guaranteed additional bosses each map

you dont want to have to add another scarab to complement the Domination Terror scarab for shrines, because then it wastes a precious scarab slot. If you use terror alone, you get 4 shrines (3 from map device, 1 from atlas tree). You get up to 11 extra bosses with pandemonium, which is much more than the 4 extra bosses from Terror. You want to use the last scarab slot for either 8 mod maps or for duplication chance.

i mention several times in this video that ideally you want to be running 8 modifier maps or at the very least well rolled maps. for testing purposes and to keep this simple i was not rolling the maps at all. i just ran them rare and unid as the maps always drop this way and my build can run every map modifier.

​@@xyzqsrboanswer is no and patially yes, watching the spreadsheet there was not much "unlucky" streaks, so when i got 10 maps straight with no t17, just got worried and came for double check ( not mad, just simply, humanly worried) After 60 maps in it evened out, all good, strat works very, very well. I can wholeheartedly advise it to everyone, tho market might break if too many will do it. I wanted it to farm t17 for my own fail attempts to do challenges, im more than happy with results

Nah it ruins your map drops too much, have already tried. Best results were with b2b without singular focus and just relying on the favoured mechanic to drop them, i dropped more of them than t17 so its not too bad.

The main reason for guardians is that its good profit and they are much faster layouts than regular maps. You will be over sustaining them regardless and I would recommend using then.

Well this is a guardian map farming strategy at the end of the day. Alot of the profit is going to be from dropping 6.7 guardian maps per map you run. It just so happens its also very fast at farming T17s

its possible they have nerfed this since the video, but you may also be doing something wrong. make sure you are running T16 guardian maps (applicable if you are choosing elder or conquerer, shaper maps are always T16).

all of the shaper guardians are very linear and i find them great to run. you just run those same 4 maps over and over. i PREFER these maps to any default atlas map to be honest, they are so fun to run through on spark.
