I do think they love one another, whether we agree with their situation or not. When all is said and done, maybe she feels safer with an unavailable (!) man. If he was released tomorrow I’m not sure she’d be comfortable and would have to deal with the real man and the complications that come with being with him bring. This situation means she has control over how much she gives and takes in the relationship, ie phonecalls, letters. If he were free, he may well prefer to get on with his own life, say to her, ‘it was so lovely, you were there for me’. Goodbye. And walk into the sunset on his own. Or - ideal, fantasy world. He is released. They go off into the sunset together. She has ‘saved’ him. Fairytale ending. As regards working, and looking after her daughter ( one is in her 20s anyway), we don’t know how things work in reality. The programme is sensationalist. I suspect she looks after her children but it is a truly unconventional relationship. She either has to hide it or share it. Eventually she has come to the latter. Wonder if she’s still with him?

I feel sorry that Jody lost his twins and was abused as a child, however, that does not give him the right to take a human life. He is exactly where he deserves to be for the rest of his life or until his execution takes place. Guys in prison in the US look specifically for women like this. Overseas. Lonely. Willing to send money and packages and have visits. Men in the US prisons all share "notes" on what to say and even help each other write letters. They look for and target vulnerability like hers. Ill bet he also has someone local visiting. Not all states allow you to get their phone and visit records so having an overseas "girlfriend" is perfect. They get money sent from her to someone here. Shit the women theyre with here are even in on it so they dont have to pay for shit. I know guys who have the overseas woman send money every check to someone here and the person here keeps it for whatever. Its a job to these inmates. No. Not ALL of them are like this but a very large majority are. I swear they even have a "get an overseas gf to pay for our shit" class in there smh these guys will say anything they have to in order to get store or money for whatever. If she goes to bed at 2:45 and doesn't get up until 1:00 pm, how isbshe getting her 12 yr old up for school? Or does her older daughter do it? Her making excuses for lying to her kids is ridiculous. And not leaving the house? If he can call her internationally, then he can call back. And if something happens at the prison she's not going to be able to talk to him anyway because they'll be on lockdown and if something happens to him, someone from the prison will get hold of her. It's ridiculous to stop living for anyone. Its not healthy and if he really loves her, he would be telling her to get out if the house and live. She's crazy. One of rhese stories, the woman got married to the inmate and then he was killed. This whole situation is just bizarre as hell. So, she goes home and devotes her life to helping with Jodie's case. How are her kids coming first again? Make it make sense! Ok. So toward the end she says he does encourage her to go out. So I guess meeting in person made them more sure of each other? I just don't understand why you would do this to yourself. It has to be torture. Unless it's easier for these women to stay with these men because they feel like they're less likely to leave them tham someone who lives with them every day and really, truly sees the bad with the good?

My point was, since I am pretty sure you deliberately misunderstood that one particular part of my comment, that it's irresponsible parenting to be that uninvolved in a 12 year old's life. You're obviously young and I doubt very seriously you have ever raised teenagers because a parent would understand exactly where I was going with that part of the comment. And btw...a 12 yr old is NOT even close to being a young adult. She's still a preteen and needs adult interaction, most especially with her parent/ parents, in aspects of her day. Young adults are generally 17-18+. In spite of your uncalled for venom, a 12 yr old is nowhere near a young adult. And if you know that many people that treat you like you're an underage infant , maybe you should be asking yourself why instead of getting so mad. Inmates Where I Live Can Have An Unlimited Amount Of Pen Pals And They Work That Angle Hard, As Each Pen Pal Sends Them MONEY ! Inmates Can Also Have Up To A Certain # Of People Who They Can Call If The Recipient Sets Up An Account And PAYS For It. It’s Just Really All About The MONEY ! They Will Be Interested In You Because You Are Paying Them Attention, AND Sending Them 💵💰 💵 ! But They Have An Unlimited Amount Of Time On Their Hands And Can Have An Unlimited # Of Pen Pals/Fiancées. 😅 IMO, This Woman Is Sick.
