How I finally got my Gruha Jyothi application done!

I had been struggling with various issues on the Gruha Jyothi portal.
But with some nifty coding hacks, I have finally managed to get the application done.
The easiest option would be to just try late at night. I tried at 2AM and it worked super-smooth!

They might have disabled it now. Also there is a new portal as well (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpLEgWWkZtaqbs0) At night it should work perfectly fine. You might not need any hacks at night

I don't know how a cancellation and re-application will work. You will ahve to check with your electricity company.

It should be in effect from the next billing cycle. I don't think the status changes at all. I have been getting a zero bill since Aug but the status still shows 'sent to BESCOM'

The website has a mind of its own It will work if it wants to work. I would suggest try at a late night hour (post midnight). Generally it works very fast (no guarantees though)

You can retry with another Aadhaar. But one connection can be used only for one application. You'll have to check with the electricity company office to change the Aadhaar However I think Aadhaar is used only to check the name. If it is done successfully, I don't think the Aadhaar that was used should matter anymore.

The free 200 units are supposed to be effective the next month after you apply for the scheme. The July bill that will come in August is the first month when the free units are supposed to be effective.

Try late at night. (Later the better) I have found the site to be smooth post 1AM During the day, looks like entire Karnataka is trying to access it and the server can't take the load. Also try Incognito mode. In normal mode, I keep being pushed to sindhusevags1 which does not exist at all.

Generally this error comes up when the servers are slow. I would suggest trying after 12 in the night. If the issue still exists, then you'll have to check with your electricity company.

Try submitting again. If it was succesfully submitted, it will not allow you to submit again. There is no SMS message, the only confirmation is the application number and pdf. If you have not received that check with your ESCOM. BESCOM for example has said they will send out confirmations later.
