absolutely true, smaller steps are truly underrated, they're momentous for natural progress. im currently learning spanish too, i'll come back in a year to this comment to see the results (if i remembered). till then, i wish y'all an easy learning journey filled with enjoyment and happiness.

I agree. Consistency is key. Those little 15 to 30-minute sessions of comprehensible input make such a difference and add up. As unrealistic and insurmountable as it may seem in the moment or at the beginning, it seems more accomplishable the longer you are consistent. One thing that has helped me is revisiting old videos of comprehensible input. Specifically, videos that seemed difficult at an earlier time. You can really gauge your progression when you're seeing a noticeable improvement in comprehension.

I've been learning German off and on for eight years, I just started Turkish (edit: not really "just," more like ten months ago 😂), and now I need Spanish for work. Lord willing, I'll come back in a year and leave a multilingual comment!

I loved your tips but I did want to point out a few things. Habit replacing is a great tip but the example given of watching beginner content while eating breakfast may not be the best example. This may be different for everyone but I know that I was not able to multitask when first starting because it takes so much concentration in order to pay attention. I would say that I had to watch content with 100 percent focus for the first 150-300 hours or I would miss a lot. Still, I guess multitasking would be better than nothing. Another point I wanted to touch on is consistency is definitely key, but doing an activity like comprehensible input for 5 to 15 minutes a day would not be enough to reach fluency in any reasonable time. I know you sped-run your journey so I think it is valuable to use hours instead days/months/years because these can be very misleading.

Thanks for your comment! When I was a complete beginner, I couldn't do much more than half an hour-hour a day. I think it's natural once you get into things to increase your input time.

Are there any morning meditations/affirmations you’d recommend for beginners/intermediate? Really loved that tip! 😊
@AngelaLearnsSpanish3 күн бұрын
I would try searching up mediations (written in your target language in the search bar, use translate if needed) and choose a few, try adjusting the speed and seeing how you feel! My other thought is maybe there are meditations for children that may be a little slower and beginner friendly?! Good luck!☺️

Does this work to learn Armenian?
@AngelaLearnsSpanish3 күн бұрын
I totally think it could. If I were you, I would start looking up the most beginner friendly content on KZbin in that language, and watch all of it. Little by little, you will see improvements and can go to harder content. Good luck!😄
