@TheMrPadawan5 ай бұрын
Practice. It mostly comes down to practice for starting and stopping streams. Once you do it enough times it should come more naturally. Being more engaging is also a practice thing. It's mostly about turning what the speaker is saying back to them. Obviously the nuances still stand, but there are other videos on KZbin with people who specialize in conversation coaching.

Finally someone who has made a very educational video!Not just saying do this, do that, at least you show it in practice! You also show many different examples from practice, which was very clear! Lately I've been messing around with entertaining my chat. I was never able to get a decent picture of it, but this helped me get started even better. Previously, I simply responded to my messages and asked a closed question. I recently started practicing telling certain stories in my gameplay and it's working great so far. I would like to sincerely thank you for making this video, it has given me a lot of motivation.

This video is amazing! And major props to you for managing to put on the poor attitude and little/no talking. ESPECIALLY when someone in chat started, well, chatting. It would kill me to do something like that. One of my absolute favorite things about streaming is talking to chat, asking people how they're doing, reacting to comments and observations. I do still need to improve on just talking while playing or drawing when no one is actively talkative, but I'm definitely better at it than I had been when I first started and it has made a WORLD of difference. I really like to do voice acting and something I've found is that having different Voice channel point rewards really helps with getting me to talk, since I have to in order to do the voice so their channel points don't go to waste. It gets me talking, and is a fun little thing for my chat to hear and interact with!

This video is chok full of great advice, from top to bottom. Listen to what this guy says. He is spot on here. A note on "being engaged" and having fun; if you aren’t "feeling it" during a stream, don't be a stubborn mule. Tell your audience that you're just not "there" at the moment and graciously end your stream. Your viewers WILL APPRECIATE THE TRANSPARENCY!! Basically, be professional about your streams. If you want to succeed, you need to act like a pro. No, wait, don't ACT like a pro, BE a professional. Viewers can smell the BS from a mile off.

Just a quick question. What do to tell to zero viewers. When no one is asking you anything on the chat. How do you know what to talk about. Its way easier for famous streamers to talk about anything and everything because people asked them things. But for a person with zero viewers it's hard trying to not give up the stream cause no one is watching. It hurts your ego, self-esteem and confidence. Makes you feel like shit and makes you feel like no one is interested in what you have to say. On top of all that you want me to be talk ABOUT MY DAY. 😂😂😂

no way i'm starting streaming and this came up in my recommended no way! Unironically your "bad streamer" is *scarily* close to what I found myself doing so far (I've only streamed 3 days). Not the lack of enthusiasm or not talking even when there's no chat, I can do better with my topics, but I do stay yapping. But the lack of effort in the title, panels, etc. I have half a theme pack (like the one in my YT avatar) but I lost most of the images eg stream starting soon, intermission, ending stream, etc. So I'm just using ones I've conjured up in MS paint, granted, they're meant to be humorously bad, but the descriptions and my bio are like one sentence max each. Thanks to you though, I've fixed up the descriptions and I'm ready for my next stream tomorrow!

This really puts me off and makes me question if streaming is even for me. I don't wanna have a webcam, but I also feel quite a disconnect when streaming since no one can see reactions etc. but then I think back at why I started streaming in the first place and then I realized that it's about me having fun and not really about growing or anything like that. Sometimes you just gotta take a step back and realize why you're doing what you do, that's how I got my groove and enjoyment back :)
@xTwoShoes3 жыл бұрын
100% agree! Streaming is what you make it! And that was part of point of the “bad” stream was to highlight someone who clearly isn’t having any fun and sees streaming as a chore. You do you and have as good of a time as you can:)
@TheCrappyCompletionist3 жыл бұрын
@@xTwoShoes reminds me of someone I saw in a discord asking for "good games to stream", and basically turns out he was streaming as a chore. I was kinda blunt with him but ended up bringing him back to his senses, why worry about a game being "streamable" if you won't enjoy it? I mean sure, you could try looking at games that you enjoy AND are streamable (best case) but enjoyment always comes first. Oh and thanks for this amazing comparison, I really liked seeing the difference between a good and bad stream, and just how little effort is actually required to have a good overlay nowadays (many online tools etc)

Thank you for this video. It was very helpful and helped me add more to my channel. Especially the panels as I only ever had sound alerts and that was all. Now I don't have cram everything in the BIO section and it looks significantly better and cleaner overall. I appreciate the help this video has gave me. Amazing work!!!!

This was a fun experiment to watch through. Just proves that you need to be ready to self critique and sometimes rethink what you are doing to make your streams better. Looking forward to the next video
