How i fixed my threaded oil sump

Hi there guys! In this video I show you my solution to how I fixed my motorcycles threaded oil sump. The threads striped out as I removed the oil sump bolt. In this fix I used LOCTITE S15980 here is the link:- www.halfords.co... It was really easy to use. I just cleaned the sump bolt with a "oven cleaner" from under the sink haha drained the bike of oil again, dried the bolt and the threads that was left in the engine with an old rag then put this Loctite on the bolts washer and a little on the bolts thread so as I would do it up it would work its way it the thread of the engine to help seal it. As I started to tighten the bolt I went by feeling so feeling how tight I could go before it would brake loose then just left it for 2 hours or so then filled the engine with oil again and let the bike idle. BOOM!!! NO LEAKS!!

Great tip.... Has it lasted as I'm going to try this but wondered whether it lasted and is the product heat resistant?

After 42000 miles and about 20 oil changes mine finally stripped just now ! C'mon yamaha u were doing so well :(

Trying that stuff now on my leaky Royal Enfield. It's a pity manufacturers use such soft engine metal. Would never have happened on my old 2 stroke MZ bikes.

yoo dude thats a good idea! i have a dirtbike and my pans stripped. so when you change the oil do you plan on just redoing the gasket sealer everytime? im gonna give this a whirl - write back!

Nice botch fingers crossed the the bolt doesn’t fall out on the road
