Your videos are awesome. Both entertaining and educational. I’ve learned much from you in regard to my Toro ZTR. I’m in the market for a JD X300 series or even an x500 if the price is right. Your presentations are “real.” No BS. No arrogance. You don’t hesitate to admit if you were wrong or just don’t know. And your many fans love you for that humility. Keep it up! Cheers and a blessings!

I just picked up a craftsman zt7000, guy said it was a bad transmission. Looked under it and he put the drive belt on completely wrong. Paid 200 for a perfect working zero turn lol.
@garagestory Жыл бұрын
Nice! I had a similar situation: someone gave me a Husqvarna 46” cut zero turn that they thought one of the transmissions was weak on. It turned out the belt was routed improperly like you had. It’s nice when it’s simple things!

Thanks for sharing your stories. I’m enjoying them. You’ve helped me learn some basics and troubleshoot my Husqvarna z246 which I thought had bad coil(s) but ended up being the choke plate melted off its plastic connection to the choke shaft falling into full choke position which is kind of crazy… plastic melts 😅 So now I have no choke but the engine is running wonderfully again. Thanks! Keep after it!
@garagestory Жыл бұрын
Glad I could help!! Is it the plastic intake manifold that melted?
@willmegehee Жыл бұрын
@@garagestory not on this model. The round choke plate that chokes the throat of the carb is metal but is held onto the rotating rod by plastic. I thought it an odd choice of materials. I can remember the choke control knob getting more and more stiff over the last year and then it got real free all of a sudden. I kept thinking there’s no way it just fell off because I was assuming all metal construction based on experience with old Fords… until I took it apart.

Yea I'd rather the mulching kit off, if you don't mow every 5 days or so, grass gets too long and just clogs the deck. Nice deal. The fragile hood reminds me of a Snapper I fixed/sold, I repaired hood cracks, told the guy it was fragile, then he started leaning on it a few minutes later. I was younger so didn't say anything, but his wife luckily reminded him before it did crack again lol
@M.TTT.6 ай бұрын
If I did mulch, I'd get the ones with the fluted spikes/flaps aka gator blades.
@garagestory6 ай бұрын
I don’t know why John Deere made so many mowers with fragile hoods. The rest of the X320 was pretty nice! I usually ran it without the hood while I had it because I didn’t want to damage it by accident.

Great job! Not sure about the market this season, I also had a X360 that I couldn't get what I wanted for, still made a profit, but not what I wanted. I tried getting another X320 today to flip, but they wanted retail $$. Profit is made at the buy, and I can't seem to source many good machines this season.

Where we are it seems like things are being listed for cheap. Good deals for people wanting a machine for themselves, but too low for selling at a good profit.

I have one of these and it is fantastic. Actually built by John Deere, and an totally different deck suspension. I had to have a new trans put in it at 282 hours for $1800! I think that Mulch kit is what gave you a bad cut.

It can be hard sometimes, prices go up and down. When they are down, it’s good for buying, but you can’t sell for a good price. When prices are up, it can be hard to get a good deal, but when you do it’s nice to have the hot market to sell on. Right now (2023) in my area, prices seem to be low which is why I had a hard time selling this mower. The market is great for the average person who just wants a mower for themselves, though!
