How I Found an Emergency Medvac Site While Camping with My Daughter

In this week's video I am taking you with on a road trip through the Superior National Forest. It was a cold, windy, rainy weekend, but we still had an awesome time. There were a few struggles along the way. That seems to be a common theme in the last few videos. I broke the ground plug on my truck camper, but I was able to come up with a backwoods MacGyver fix utilizing aluminum foil and zip ties. I also noticed while editing the video that I lost a headlight, but that's just a maintenance issue. While on a hike I fell trying to climb a rock cliff. My face broke the fall in dead bush. You can see on the video how closely I came to losing an eyeball. The backwoods helicopter evacuation site we found could have come in real handy.
This will be Adelle's 3rd video. It is awesome to see how much of a beautiful young lady she has become over the years. It hard to believe she will be turning 18 in a few days. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DELLERS!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I remember taking my children to almost the exact same area about 30 years ago, although it was just two toddlers at the time. To this day, they both have an unexplained romance with the North country. Sometimes I think as a parent, it's more important for your children who fall in love with the place, before they fall in love with a person. But that's just me.

Wow Kenny, indeed you are a lucky man! What a sweet young lady you have. I love your tribute to your Father/Daughter relationship. We had boys but now I get to say, "There are these girls who have stolen my heart, and they call me Grandad." Your opening travel footage was awesome! The music that you chose was very relaxing. That is so funny that Adelle has become camera shy. I remember the last time she was on probably a year ago. She's really growing up. Richard, I got your package today! Thank you so much for the lights. I will put them to good use. It's crazy how much difference a few years can make. I look back and see little Dell being the social butterfly on camera. This year, she was a little more reserved. That definitely happens as we get older. She's gonna be turning 18 in a few days, such a beautiful young lady. Thankfully, the opposite happens too, where we hit a certain age and don't care how others see us. It definitely takes a few years to be confident in all our flaws.

Thst wind was a challenge. Unfortunately we didn't have much time sitting around the campsite. The wind was coming off the lake, cutting through the clothing. Even with the dead cat on the mic, I was clipping a few times. It was crazy.

Kenny, Thanks for all your videos. I love watching them when I cant get outside myself. One of my favorite camping additions to my own set up was a portable smoker. Green Mountain Grill makes an awesome smaller one called the Davy Crockett. It can run off a DC power plug, car battery terminals, or 110 AC. I've loved it. But enough about BBQs. You have inspired me to want to get a truck camper to replace my tow behind so I can go to more remote areas. Keep up the awesome videos. As you always say be kind, be honest, and have a great day!
