Tiffany thinks page would love to hear from you!! She’s in the beginning of this exact diagnosis, stage 3 and on 7th chemo treatment. Getting ready to start radiation and surgery which is not looking well because of the length of tumor. I think your story could really give her some great insight! She’s a sweet girl who’s very scared. Thank you for sharing so much of your life!

My cousin was around 30 when she was diagnosed with colon cancer. She said she would bleed so much that she had to wear a “diaper”. It would leak out all the time. They did surgery on her while she was pregnant. Took her uterus out, with the baby inside, and removed the tumor. She was very lucky that surgery was all she needed. But when she told me about wearing a diaper, I just couldn’t imagine how scared she was.

Don't apologize for being graphic. People with colorectal issues need you to describe it to motivate ourselves to get colonoscopies. As you know they are hard to do. Time consuming, unpleasant and you have to have someone take time off work to go with you. Also if your insurance is not great it is expensive to stay ahead of it. Your descriptions is literally saving lives because we have a lot of obstacles. Don't ever apologize for being clear about this.

I wish doctors were more compassionate and less, "Oh you're too young for this or that. Don't worry!" etc. It's not only annoying (and yes, I know their intentions and hearts are in the right place), but still, it doesn't help!

She is such a striking, well-poised beauty, she is a real challenge to stereotypes that colorectal issues are “gross,” or unlikely to happen to certain people. Many people, even some doctors, don’t think of these as problems young and healthy-looking people can have.

Screw people that might say ur trying to get sympathy or anything. Young people think they are invincible already and a symptoms there is something that could be very embarrassing for anyone especially younger people. Cancer especially there is associated with older people and nobody wants to talk about it or listen to it It needs to be discussed more so people are not embarrassed You have been through a lot for anyone especially someone your age Happy you are doing better and are cancer free. Continue working towards your career goals

Hi Vanessa, I'm so glad that you are healthy, cancer free. You are a strong woman. I am 53 now. I have stage 4 cancer for 9 years. I was cancer free for 1 year, then it came back. I had 3 surgeries, too many chemos, radiation, gammaknife 2 times. I'm still fighting, living. Even I was through hard journey, but I'm strong, positive, happy woman. That's what me gets going every day and I'm still living, thanks to God. Life is beautiful, tomorrow is never promised. Enjoy your life with family. I wish you this year and always be healthy, cancer free. God Bless your family. Greetings from America Angela 😊🙏

So sorry to hear about your long cancer journey - that must be incredibly difficult. Glad to hear you mentioned God because yes he has plans for your life and that’s why you are still here. We all go through tough times in our lives - some more some less and only Jesus knows why. It’s all part of his divine plan which is so hard for us to understand in our human mind. Prayers for you to be cancer free and be an inspiration with your courage and positivity to others. Amen 🙏

Vanessa, you have been a warrior through this. You took care of your family, never complained, but were very honest throughout your journey. I’m sure your medical experience gave you the knowledge, the vocabulary and the courage to be a great self advocate. I’ve followed you for quite a while, so screw anyone that accuses you of seeking sympathy et al. You’re a smart beautiful woman, mother, wife, student and career woman. Here’s to many many years of great health and happiness. 🥳🥳🥳

You have a powerful message I lost my husband to colorectal cancer 28 yrs ago. He was 38 when diagnosed with stage 4 He passed away 18 months later. He was 40 and I was a 38 yr old widow after being married 17 yrs. Like you everyone (doctors). Kept saying don’t worry you have hemorrhoids . Bottom line is don’t ever stop sharing your story . I’m sure you have helped many many people and you will continue to do so. Thank you and GOD’s BLESSINGS to you and your family Thanks be to JESUS for you healing.

I lost my mom to Colon cancer back in 2014. You are so right, your body and mind send you a signal something is not right. I once asked my doctor to check my thyroid levels and she said I was fine without even checking. Come to find out later on I had thyroid cancer.

Hi, Thank you for sharing. I appreciate your perspective, my diagnosis was very similar to yours. I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in the sigmoid section on 2-20-23. It was upgraded to stage 4 in April when it spread to my liver and lungs. My BIGGEST point is related to what you said in your video. "Don't be a company person". I worked for the city of LA for 10 yrs and never called in sick. I went to work for JPL in Pasadena for several years, and never called in sick. I will never do this again. Thank you for pointing it out and reminding all of us, including me, that our health is and should always take priority over everything else. Again, thank you for sharing and take care.

Oh girl. Our stories are very similar but mine was breast cancer. I had to keep fighting and pushing. They kept saying it’s definitely not cancer. We’ll my nipple is not bleeding for no reason! I finally saw a specialist. Ended up having 4 surgeries, radiation, and take a daily chemo pill. But I am finally starting to feel better. I found out the day before Thanksgiving. That was the hardest holiday season ever.

I'm glad your making awareness because cancer does not care about a person age even small children/babies sadly be diagnosed with cancers. Its a horrible disease. I'm happy Your cancer free💜

That's an excellent account of your symptoms! It's rare for people to get diagnosed with early stages of this type of cancer because we only get really worried when more severe symptoms (in later stages) start manifesting. I imagine the early stages would be accompanied with some bloating and stomach pain/cramps but we all experience these at some point and we don't immediately go have colonoscopies. I think colonoscopies just like cervical smears should be accessible to people in their 20s. It's such a horror that doctors are so dismissive when it comes to cancer and young people.

I remember being diagnosed with Crohns disease...it didn't sink in at first I was like so how do you fix this. 18 yrs later and 3 surgeries every day is a blessing. How my journey started was having a mild cramp that lasted all day and a primary dr who was great and helped me find a diagnosis. Thank you for sharing your journey❤️ I remember being in the same position as you. Feeling so frustrated, having to fight for someone to listen to me on how serious my symptoms were, many blew me off saying it was hemorrhoids. Luckily, a nurse listened and I was able to get a colonoscopy done at the age of 20, they removed a polyp and said it would have became cancer in 5 years, Tubulovillous Adenoma. My life changed from there, I now am a nurse and hoping to always advocate for my patients. Colon cancer can be beaten if caught in time. Thank you for raising awareness 💙

So, so similar to my story. I was ten years older than you and in the UK. I had womb cancer but I was dismissed so many times and I almost gave up, but I knew something was wrong. Told I was too young, women's troubles etc etc. Having to fight for yourself and all the awful stuff you have to go through is what changes you and makes you stronger. I also don't like the idea of warrior, or being brave etc as you just have to take a deep breath and keep going - there is no other choice, and I felt lost most of the time. Glad you got through it 💕

Have subscribed and I look forward to coming back here soon to check Vanessa's previous videos, I so love inspirational happy endings.x I came here from seeing comment on Tiffanythinks, not sure who posted it but thanks to whoever it was. I am twice the ages of these lovely ladies and have sigmoid tumour that has spread to my liver, making me stage 4, treated for past 5 months with chemo. I cannot remember how I started following Tiffanythinks but after seeing her totally positive way of dealing with such trauma I needed to follow her journey. I so admire and respect her attitude from someone so young. At my age you expect something to get you but to see this in all these young people it is so tragic, medics keep saying it is so rare that they discard the symptoms, judging what I'm seeing of late, it is not rare enough and their attitudes to this evil disease must change.

I have just had you come up on my page, I lost my beloved partner of liver cancer in May last year. So many young people on here are fighting colorectal cancer, there is one young girl with ovarian and another young girl lost their battle with brain cancer and skin cancer. I have become obsessed by adult kids health. Drs always say people are too young, it’s become frightening. I don’t know why people are suffering so much. I watch Tiffany thinks, she is a lovely girl and I think she was fobbed off over a year of continual Illness, hers is now very big and also touching her uterus. I hope she replies to you, I can’t imagine her not messaging you back, she is simply a little angel. You are so beautiful and I wish you all the best Xx

I don't have cancer, I have Crohn's. 3 years ago I nearly died. I drove myself 50 kms to the hospital in agony for the 4th time (after being sent home with painkillers the previous 3 times). The next day I lost a third of my bowel and spent a week in hospital. Then three months recovering. It was the most painful, horrendous, undignified time of my life. I had a rare and lethal Psoas Abscess from leakage from my Crohn's. I am still here. So are you. xx

I’m glad you are still here and yes it was extremely painful for me as well. Even they are two different diagnosis the procedure is rather the same and it was the most painful things I have ever experienced. It took me nearly 3 months to fully recover

As a chronically ill person, I've figured out MOST of what's wrong w/ me after issues were missed for YEARS and then they've been confirmed medically from there (namely POTS and endometriosis). I've had to be my own advocate...b/c if you're young or intelligent or pretty you're "not supposed to be sick." Ugh!!! 1) well, I am! And that biased thinking left me suffering. 2) disabled or sick people aren't dumb or unattractive.

I have a rare form of dwarfism called " McKusick type Metaphyseal Chondrodysplasia." In 1997, I was diagnosed with that rare of dwarfism at the age of 4 in my home country, Chile. It affects my bones, joints, and gastrointestinal, and I'm prone to cancer. I was also born with Hirschsprungs' disease. It basically means that right after birth, doctors had to perform surgery in order to remove my whole colon (except my rectum) because the nerves were dead. Without the nerves, my stool couldn't pass through my colon. It was completely damaged and because of that, I had to wear a colostomy bag throughout my whole childhood until I had it reversed in 2008. My mom told me that my colon was swollen and black. At that time, healthcare was terrible in my country. Due to my disability, I was not allowed to receive any form of education because teachers didn't want to deal with me. My parents really wanted me to receive better healthcare. My father wanted me to receive a full education like everyone else. In 1998, my parents made the drastic decision to bring me and my siblings to the United States in order for me to have an education and proper healthcare. If it weren't for my parents, I wouldn't be be able to read and write and everything that comes with education. As for my health, I wouldn't have been able to get the surgeries I needed.

We that are going through currently or know someone that is going through colorectal cancer and ileostomy know you're not trying to get attention. I'm in my 15th month now since finding out I was high stage II and woke up in hospital with an ileostomy. Thank God I've made it through everything so far. Very soon I'll have my reversal surgery. I have to say it's the hardest thing in my life I've ever been through. It's a tough thing physically and mentally to go through. Many times I've broken down and cried and other times thanked God for the strength to make it. 🙏 I almost died because my tumor ruptured and also had acute appendicitis at the same time. 7 months after tumor removal wound healing started chemotherapy. Could only handle 4 rounds. June was my last chemotherapy. Today November 2nd. Hopefully by next week I can get my ileostomy reversal surgery. Your videos are helpful in getting prepared for the surgery. Thank you and stay blessed by God to get through and stay strong always 🙏 💪 ❤️ ✨️

I have that kind of stomach pain with eating, cramping, bowel urgency and stabbing pain. I have also had trouble passing stool, mucousy stools and stringy stools. Thank you for this! I’m aware that it could be diverticulitis, ulcers, even adrenal gland problems, but I scheduled an endoscopy and colonoscopy, to be sure. I appreciate the heads-up!
