Clearly anyone who disliked this video is a hater. Great video Bill. Always like to see the different techniques for staggering wire. Good job making the video fool proof and taking time to explain everything. Good, fast tutorial. A++

way more consistent then the loop method and just so simply man thanks so much again.

Nice! Can't wait to try this for my next staple staggered fused clapton. My spacing is decent, but you really need it to be perfect, otherwise it screws the whole thing up! Thx for the pro tip!!

nice video, ive been having some trouble with the shirt button method, i can actually do the spacing by hand but they need to be bang on the same for both cores for the coil so il defo give this a try

First off,the beading wire for practice is a super good idea,I do this myself alot lol.i don't like to waste my kanthal and sometimes I just want to make a coil for shits and giggles,and may not need a new coil.just enjoy the process I guess.so practice wire is nice to have handy.also let's you see size of finished product and see if it will seat in your rda,and let's you adjust wire size accordingly.when I started I seemed to gravitate to larger wire guages I think cuase it was just easier to see,and the coils wound up being super chunky lol.practice wire helped size coils down correctly

local fishing store. little on the pricey side but we'll worth it! Krok brand I think they are 220lb. Do not get the bill fisher line they are not as good. packaging should be blue with neon green writing. sorry for late response.

Well, shit. I have never even made so much as a regular plain coil before, but I just used this method and made a perfect staggered fused Clapton outta 28 and 38 gauge wire. Couldn't even see what I was doing, but I never missed a single wrap. Though...rather than scavenge the metal arm of the clip, I just used the clip as it is. To add weight I clipped it onto a few coins, so it's even adjustable. I expected some degree of difficulty. Especially using a hand drill and using my foot to keep it from moving too much, and with a crappy old swivel that kept binding and jerking. That all goes to show how easy it is. After a few hits, though...I gotta say, its time to come down from the 2.4% and maybe switch to a 100% VG juice, cus my throat had something to say about it. I had no idea a coil could make such a massive difference

Dude I had an ah huh moment when I watched your video thank you!! I've got a great improvement if I can be so bold! Use magnets and bigger or smaller nuts for weight works like hot damn I keep my odd shaped nuts in a little bowl on the build desk lol 😂

I must echo the sentiments below and commend the OP for a GREAT technique/trick.. and if anyone else out there wants to try ,but find it tedious, google or youtube "The Button Trick" (coil mother fudger) and it's even a little easier than this....good trick tho, and excellent video of it! I'll update this comment this weekend and tell how I did on my own (coil wire comin' in Vape mail)
@williamstrickland28077 жыл бұрын
Yeah both technics work... the biggest thing is not to lead your staggering wire. Try to keep it at a 90° otherwise the spacing will be to large and not consistent. Good luck! The clamp method has been my new go to for staggered builds. It's easier than both the other technics and almost hands free.. well not really hands free lol

William Strickland ~ thx for the insight & tips, William; Ive just recently (couple weeks ago) got into fancier builds, but I ran outta wire, but not before I made virtually perfect clapton & fused clapton, and now i'm ready to step it up a notch... ordered some wire from Kidney Puncher & eBay, so i'm gettin restless... Are there any tricks you know for mounting the swivels? Are there any subsitute for the ball bearing fishing jobs? Just wanted to pick at ur brain a little, I figure hell, the only dumb question is the one you *DON'T* ask...
@williamstrickland28077 жыл бұрын
As far as mounting swivels get some small sized key rings to connect them attach one end to a stick and use v the other end for the wire. I'll be doing a new video of a skateboard bearing set up soon I hope! Got something a friend is working on
@williamstrickland28077 жыл бұрын
I would suggest you try aliens 1st. staggered builds tend to challenge even for an advanced builder. Check FB for a group called coil wars and another called coil craft. Both groups are full of great people that are always glad to give tips
