This used to be very common in movies shot in the 70s to 90s. I really like this look.

I have a GH5 with a Fuji b4 lens and absolutely love to shoot 1080p, GH5 teleconverter on, wide open aperture and 2x extender out. I call it dream vision because of the ridiculous milky, hazy look lmao. The only thing that has been a nightmare for me is getting the camera and lens to be supported 😅 I think I need to buy some rails.

So epic. I used to have a Fuji A14x9BERM for my G85, with the lens, adapter, and power all totaling less than $100. The parfocal nature was sweet, and the best thing was being able to rapidly zoom in and out like a snapchat video but optically. The chromatic aberration was wild since these 3CCD lenses are meant to have three different focal planes (1 for each RGB) but it really built the lens character. Now I get by with a Sony SELP18200 for an 11x zoom that's not really parfocal but has AF, a photo quality lens, and no more messy power cables

You can still get adapters that will fix the CA for some Sony and BMD cameras. Well... you can "still" also get new lenses in this format as well. The new 4K lenses and even HD lenses are just incredibly expensive. You can get much better S35 or "FF" lenses for the same money but obviously not the same zoom range nor in f/1.8. IMHO if you need super fast zooms and you can't change the lens between shots, then this is the peak tech we have. Actually, it's possible to achieve very good quality too if you go for those huge box lenses, but then it's like a do you buy a house or lens kind of decision.

@@hbp_ correct. The CA just wasn't a big enough issue for me to spend hundreds of dollars for an IB/E HDx35 adapter or similar. Definitely agree that these are still very professional lenses that yield great results

INCREDIBLE footage. There's many B4 zoom lenses models like this one out there. I'm struggling to find this exact lens that you're using. Do think any of these old B4 zooms would produce a similar image to what you have?
@RAKKProductions9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I'm sure any B4 lens with the 2x extender on it should work fine. I know some people that use Fuijinon lenses with great results.

I love your work. The colour, grain, frames, motion. So pumped when you do these on-camera explainers. I've been tempted to get an old ENG zoom for awhile to use in crop mode on my EOS M with Magic Lantern, because you can shoot in raw up to a 3X crop on an APS-C sensor. I also have a modified GoPro that is a 1 2/3" sensor and can take almost any lens. It's a C-mount with an almost 5x crop factor. I already have an Angenieux 12--120 f/2.2 C-mount 16mm lens, I wonder if I could give it focus gears and set up a powered focus pull mechanism to work a s DIY powered zoom? Might be a fun project.

I suspect that the Roman numerals are optical changes and letters are software upgrade versions. Although, I'm not sure because IIRC the HD and 4K series lenses with a config display (and joystick) also show an x.y.z firmware version number.
