This is so true. I'm an art teacher. I tried to find a job in my subject, It was difficult. one day I typed in Google and gave my resume to one school, they reached back and took me even so I was pregnant. Just keep in mind they’ll cover 100% of demonstrated need, not need. So she will still most likely need fafsa, loans, and potentially a plus loan depending on how much they offer her. But it will still be much more affordable

Also, it’s much more important to be studious and well rounded - intelligence only gets you so far with an Ivy League school, everyone applying is also intelligent. Being well rounded and having something that sets you apart from others, along with demonstrating that you will work hard to learn your material and get good grades will mean much more in the long run. It also gives you an impressive talking point of overcoming adversity and obstacles through determination and ingenuity. Unless you’re a literal genius or have very rich parents, you’re not likely to get in without being well rounded.
