I just checked the gov.uk website and it shows that those who are within the UK on a different visa can switch directly to the Global Talent Visa. As far as I'm aware, broadcast media technology isn't listed as an eligible field, so I'm afraid it's likely not eligible. However, I’d still recommend doing some further research, as my experience has been primarily with the Arts Council route

It usually takes at least 3 weeks to get a reply back from the Arts Council, in some cases it could be longer. So not much to do about it apart from just waiting. Good luck!

Yes, as far as I know, you can switch visa routes - I’ve heard of people moving from a Skilled Worker visa to Global Talent, so I assume it would be similar for student visas. However, the Global Talent requirements remain the same no matter what visa you're switching from. I’d recommend doing a bit more research just to be sure!

Hello Daniel I would like to thank you for your detailed guides to applying the Uk global talent visa which I had followed through and my wife was endorsed by the Arts and Culture as an exceptional talent but unfortunately we won’t be able to meet up with the deadline of the endorsement which is in 3 weeks. Her TB test results required further analysis(sputum)and it’s gonna take 10weeks for the result to be out. Meanwhile, she has till 25th October, 2024 to submit the application. Please, what should we do?

Hi Grant, first of all, congrats on the endorsement! I’m really glad my guide was helpful. While I haven’t faced this situation personally, here are a couple of suggestions based on what seems sensible: 1. Try to find another lab that might be able to provide the TB results faster - 10 weeks does sound excessive! 2. Reach out to the Home Office, explain the delay, and see if they might extend the lifespan of your endorsement until the test is ready. Alternatively, they might allow you to submit the Stage 2 application without the TB test for now, with the understanding that you’ll provide it later. Fingers crossed for you!
