Can you match into surgery in US from Shifa? Like in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic surgery or General surgery. I don't think matching into surgery from Pakistan is possible from any other medical college except Aga Khan.

Shahzad. In these years, it is getting extremely hard to match into surgery as an IMG. However, people do match, from shifa as well. You just have to put in extra time and effort. Maybe do a post doc research year somewhere or build your cv really really well. Competition gets really hard these days. And if you are an IMG, the only benefit your medical college brings to you is a good alumni network. Shifa's may not be as extensive as AKU's but it is still pretty good.

@@zahirahj.9021 Islamabad my there are some other private universities like hbs, watim (rawal pindi), Islamabad University... There cut off merit is quite low as compared to shifa. And for bds in shifa it's almost same probably 78 or for safe side 80+%. I'd recommend hbs if not possible in shifa on the basis of grading of unis by pmc.. It's an A+ uni.. Baki your choice and make sure to take admission in nearby hometown

Yes you will be able to go into shifa. They don't consider fsc/alevels marks in their final merit. You will get admission based on your performance in the shifa entrance test and their interviews.
